Health should be a right, but it is now a luxury.
As sad as that sounds, this is the reality we live in today.
Any product that gets a 'healthy' tag, becomes expensive. And any alternatives are pricey too.
Want a quick snack on the go?
—>Deep fried samosa = ₹10
—>Vegetable sandwich = ₹50
Dining out with friends?
—>Cheesy pizza = ₹99
—>High protein salad = ₹250
Feel like munching while watching TV?
—>Pack of chips = ₹10
—>Roasted nuts = ₹50
Cooking everything at home every day isn't possible for a lot of busy people. And it has just become convenient to choose the unhealthy options.
I won't end this post with tips like I generally do.
Because no matter what I say, this reality won't change soon.
But what I will say is this:
If you strive to care about your health despite all this, and make the HARDER choice because you know it's better, you have my respect.
Keep focusing on what you can actually you control, whenever you do have the choice.
And when you don't, forgive yourself for taking the easy way out once in a while.
If you have any tips on staying healthy within a budget, please share them with everyone below!
