The moment you start turning "in", you start turning "off". It's a common problem. We get so caught up in work, life, and stress that we neglect the things that truly matter. Our passions, our hobbies, and our interests. Remember: life is not just a "to-do" list. It's okay to say no to a work obligation and say yes to a friend’s offer. You never know what new doors might open up. So, go out and have some fun. Join a club. Take a class. Try a new hobby. Meet new people. Do the things that light you up. Because when you're excited about life, it shows. And that's when the magic starts to happen.

You have a hobby, you practice it in your free time to chill or in your break to charge your power, and you have to work for a living. At some point you realize that you can make money from your hobby, but you're too old to start, the younger are in better positions, you may fail and you won't be able to get back to your current job. If you're reading this now, this message is for you. Stop thinking, take the risk, and start. To start late is better than no start at all, and you may miss a great opportunity to shine, plus what if this time is your right time. Most of the time when you reach a breaking point, it's the beginning of a different door waiting for you to open it, so get dressed, believe in you, and write your name among whoever is on the other side, you may come late, but you can be the first, and always remember that the turtle won the race.

𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻. Sure, it may feel like that some days. And some days WAY more than others. But you're whole and designed in a way that's uniquely yours. You may need connection with others and/or very specific energetic "matches" to jumpstart or accelerate your gifts, but 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲. Those connections and/or energetic configurations are areas of wisdom. Signposts you're not here to do it ALL yourself or to even do the things you THINK you want to do. You're here to do very specific things and how you're designed is exactly as it's intended to make it happen. 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻. 𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱. You'd be surprised how much opportunity is available to you in the pool you're intended to swim in if you stop looking around and being envious of where you're not. You're right where you're supposed to be and given the exact gifts needed to ensure you can live the most fulfilling life. 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀.

Have you ever heard of a "to-done" list? It was introduced to me by my friend, Jen Farley, PCC, and I must share that it's an incredible tool for boosting confidence and motivation, especially on those days when you're feeling a bit low! So, what exactly is a "to-done" list? It super easy, just take a moment to jot down your achievements, hobbies, interests, personal milestones, and the relationships you've nurtured. Basically, it's just a list of all the experiences and actions that have contributed to your growth and stretching beyond your comfort zones. For me, I often find myself overwhelmed by the endless "to-do" lists, worried about future uncertainties, and dwelling on what I haven't achieved. It's so easy to lose sight of my progress and the extraordinary journey I have embarked on. So, I'm curious. Have you ever compiled a "to-done" list?

One of the things that performers tend to do in the pursuit of their dreams is to neglect all the things that make life worth living. We get so laser-focused on our goals that the cycle of class–audition–performing becomes all-consuming, and we lose sight of the people, places, and hobbies that we once pursued just for the fun of it. I know because I've been there. It's a startling realisation to discover that you have built your entire sense of worth and self-esteem on something as fickle as a west end contract. This is the reason I encourage my clients to re-introduce some of the hobbies, people, and things they used to do for fun. Having a well-rounded and balanced life is just as important for your well-being as it is for your career. After all, how can you be an effective artist when you are starved and cut off from life? How can you perform your best when you are burnt out? This is your reminder that it is possible for you to build a performing career that allows you to also enjoy your life. Only you get to decide what that looks like. What is one thing you will do this week, just for fun? P.s. This is us on a family walk over the weekend (minus myself actually because I took the pic😅)💙

Don't just tell your kids to follow their passions—show them. Be the example that inspires them to pursue what lights them up. My little guy has been asking to come to one of my events, so yesterday, I brought him along! He helped me pack goodie bags, set up the room, and got to watch me in my element, doing what I love most. Seeing him watch me was one of the most fulfilling moments—knowing he’s absorbing every bit of what it looks like to follow your passion. It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget to show our kids how important it is to chase the things that bring us joy. But when you’re doing something you truly love—whether it’s a full-time career, a side hustle, or a passion project—it’s magic. I highly recommend bringing your kids along for the ride. Let them see you lit up and in your element. You’re not just creating memories—you’re showing them what it means to believe in themselves.

Why don't you create impact in your life? Because you live outside your Genius Zone. In his book The Big Leap, Gay Hendricks describes your Genius Zone as the intersection of what you are exceptional at and what you love. The idea is to maximize your unique abilities while doing things that bring you energy and passion. But I think it goes even further. It's not just about what you are exceptional at, but how you create exceptional impact. I've heard so many people say they want to make more impact in their career, relationships, etc. But they often don't even know their unique abilities that create impact. Discover how you uniquely create an exceptional impact in the lives of others. Combine that with what you love doing. Find your Genius Zone and then commit to crafting your life in your zone. What will you achieve once you start living fully within your Genius Zone?
