🖤 Tragic News from the Triathlon World 🖤 We lost a valued member of the triathlon community this weekend during the Ironman Calella-Barcelona. Elena Smirnova, a 41-year-old dedicated triathlete from St. Petersburg, tragically drowned in the swim segment of the race. As someone who has participated in triathlons, I know firsthand the mental and physical demands of these events. They push you to your limits in the pursuit of self-discovery and achievement. The loss of Elena is a potent reminder of the risks involved and the need for us to maintain rigorous safety protocols to protect our athletes. ➡️ This incident calls us to reflect on the measures in place and strive for improvements wherever possible.
