"I've never felt it is a problem guiding talented people. It's very much about releasing them, letting them do what they're good at, giving them responsibility.'' Truecaller recently had the privilege of hosting AIK Fotboll's Manager Mikkjal Thomassen at our Stockholm office. His insights into leadership and team motivation have inspired us across the company. We wish him luck with next season!

In his career, Roger Federer won 80% of all the matches he played, but only 54% of individual points. To me, this is such a great illustration of why strategy matters - knowing which points, which plays to focus on in order to win. On a points basis, Federer was only 4% better than the average of his competitors - but he made that 4% count. All strategy is about making decisions about where to play, and how to 'win' (based on a clear view of what 'winning' looks like for your organisation). How clear is your organisation's strategy? Thanks for the reminder Rog Hello, I'm Kate, a strategist, facilitator and progress maker. 9 leadership aces from Roger Federer's playbook. Wondering about the link between tennis and leadership? Easy! Because Roger Federer epitomizes leadership both on and off the court. How does he do it? Much like leadership, tennis involves many solitary moments. But it relies heavily on a dedicated team behind the scenes. Successful leaders understand the value of their team’s contribution. See how I connected the dots? P.S. Repost this if you think it can help someone in your network! ♻

🎾 Lessons from the Court: Roger Federer's Insightful Speech at Dartmouth 2024🎾 I had the pleasure of watching Roger Federer’s inspiring speech at Dartmouth. What struck me most was his profound reflection on dealing with losses. Federer shared, “ In tennis, perfection is impossible... In the 1,526 singles matches I played in my career, I won almost 80% of those matches... Now, I have a question for all of you... what percentage of the POINTS do you think I won in those matches? Only 54%. In other words, even top-ranked tennis players win barely more than half of the points they play. When you lose every second point, on average, you learn not to dwell on every shot. When you’re playing a point, it is the most important thing in the world. But when it’s behind you, it’s behind you... This mindset is really crucial, because it frees you to fully commit to the next point… and the next one after that… with intensity, clarity and focus.” This resonates deeply in the professional world. Whether it's a missed opportunity, a failed project, or a setback in your career, it's crucial to approach each loss as a learning experience rather than a defeat. Embrace these moments, learn from them, and let them fuel your determination to improve. Federer’s perspective is a powerful reminder that resilience and growth often stem from our toughest challenges. “The best in the world are not the best because they win every point... It’s because they know they’ll lose... again and again… and have learned how to deal with it. “ #RogerFederer #Dartmouth2024 #Resilience #Leadership #GrowthMindset #Inspiration

How to use stories to inspire your leaders 🏉🌍 The Springboks won the Rugby World Cup again in Oct 2023. As we watched the nail-biting games, reflecting on the leadership that led the Springboks to victory in 2019 and again in 2023 is essential. Our CEO, Ricky Robinson, has delved into the leadership foundations that paved the way for their success. Read more about how we tell the stories here: https://lnkd.in/dEd2br-b The Springbok's journey to victory in 2019 is an awe-inspiring tale of hope, authentic leadership, humility, and the triumph of self-belief and dreams on a world stage. Led by our first black captain, this triumph was particularly significant for the nation's first truly diverse Springbok team. Just eighteen months before the Rugby World Cup, the Springboks were ranked seventh in the world and faced some of the worst losses in their history. The team seemed far from their former glory, making the achievements of Rassie Erasmus and Siya Kolisi in Japan seem impossible. Today, we can proudly declare it one of the rugby world's most remarkable turnarounds. In this enlightening case study, we delve into the pivotal decisions made by the Springboks' inspirational leaders and explore how these choices led to a historic moment for our nation. We unpack the high-performance habits and self-belief that shaped the Springboks' new identity, prompting us to ask: What inspirational leadership behaviours ignited this miraculous transformation? The Springboks' success story serves as a beacon of inspiration for leaders in all fields, reminding us that we can overcome any challenge and achieve greatness with the right leadership foundations, dedication, and belief. Effortless is a myth! This powerful speech by Roger Federer reminds us that dedication is key in #leadership and #sports "Graduates, I feel your pain. I know what it’s like when people keep asking what your plan is for the rest of your life. They ask me: “Now that you are not a professional tennis player, what do you do?” I don’t know… and it’s OK not to know." 📽 Extract from Roger Federer's speech at Dartmouth College for the 2024 Commencement Address. #leadership #inspiration #management

Did you catch Dani Olmo's historic header yesterday during the Spain vs. England final? Olmo's block wasn't just a testament to skill but also a powerful reminder of the essence of teamwork. Positioned unexpectedly on the goal line, he focused intently, positioning himself perfectly to clear the ball. It wasn't where you'd usually find an attacking midfielder, but Olmo knew where his goalie was (and wasn't) and he filled the void. True teamwork! This moment underscores an important lesson: Every role on the team is crucial. Whether it's stepping into a defensive role like Olmo or leading the attack, adaptability and support define a great team - whether on or off the turf. How about you, have you had someone back you up when you least expected it? Share a quick comment below, so we can share some inspiration rolling into the week ahead. #Teamwork #Leadership #Euro2024
