TSE International Inc.'s OK Champion Cable Scrapper is a high production hydraulically driven machine that removes communication and power cable from underground ducts while simultaneously cutting it into manageable scrap lengths. Its value is that the operation is performed in a minimum space, safely with a minimum of handling of the cable. All conventional utility cables can be accommodated by the scrapper including armored cable. The Cable Scrapper continuously pulls the cable from the duct and manholes conveys it internally through a boom to a discharge point, where it is shear cut and automatically distributed into a dump truck for transporting. The machine operation is simple and requires labor only for the initial attachment or lifting the cable into the power capstan. Once the cable is placed into the machine’s pulling wheel, the operation is fully automatic. The unit positioned at the manhole, occupies minimal street area, thus minimizing traffics disruption. Safety is a prime feature in that the operation is completely contained within the immediate work site. Matching market mechanisms with actual system operation. An important lesson we have learned from the design process of electricity markets around the world is the need to determine the degree of consistency between the market mechanisms used for scheduling and operating generator sets and the actual operation of the power grid. In the early stages of designing wholesale markets in the United States, all regions attempted to operate wholesale markets using simplified transmission networks. A single pricing zone market or a multi pricing zone market assumes that the transmission capacity between nodes at different locations in the transmission network is infinitely large, or that there are recognized transmission constraints only between larger geographical regions. Due to the need to comply with the actual configuration and other operational constraints of the transmission network in real time, simplified transmission network configuration and other related operational constraints create opportunities for market participants to increase profits meeting. These simplified markets set a single market clearing price for the entire country or larger geographic regions every half hour or hour, but there are also cases where generators priced lower than the market clearing price do not generate electricity and are instead generated by generators priced higher than the market clearing price. The reason for this result is that the demand and availability of generator units within the region, as well as the configuration of the transmission network, have prevented some of the low-priced generator units from generating electricity, instead allowing some of the high priced units to supply electricity. The former is usually referred to as a "constrained reduced output" unit, while the latter is called a "constrained increased output" or "forced operation" unit.
