Is there a checklist that any winery needs to have to be successful at fine wine distribution? When you are at the top of the pyramid, do you still need to invest relentlessly in your brand? Do you see the secondary market being a hindrance or a help for fine wine? We discuss this - and more - with Don St Pierre of AdaptEdge, a consulting firm providing strategic direction for building distribution channels: https://bit.ly/ILPBep5

It should come as no surprise that craft distillers are facing significant challenges in a rapidly evolving industry, with distribution consolidation and stagnant regulations creating roadblocks. In this article, my colleague and dear friend Mark Harmann (National Sales Director of the IDN), emphasizes that smaller markets often offer better opportunities for craft brands than larger, saturated markets. He highlights the critical importance of the distribution channel and finding the right distribution partner, as mid-sized distributors can provide a valuable path for regional expansion. Craft brands must innovate and strategically navigate these obstacles to survive and thrive in this competitive landscape. #CraftSpirits #Distribution #Innovation #IDNDist https://lnkd.in/eW7TUarn

There are a ton of these articles about the next bust cycle in the #whisky #whiskey industry due to a major shift in supply and demand trends over the past couple of years but this one is well worth the read from Dave Broom. In this article, he highlights the need for more affordable quality whiskies to weather the upcoming storm, with a strong focus on educating and engaging new consumers. However, while this may be particularly true for newer categories like #AmericanWhiskey, #IrishWhiskey and developing whiskey markets, there are plenty of opportunities and continuing demand for more premium whiskies (as we can see at BAXUS) particularly as there remains a massive gap between what the consumer wants, and what the system offers them in traditional retail - particularly markets like The U.S. and Australia. A great time to be a whisk(e)y drinker as there are going to be some incredible prices over the coming holiday season and into 2025... #DrinksIndustry #IndustryTrends #BoomandBust

There are a few extra nuances in the U.S. market, but this is an excellent distillation of the trends at work in the major wine markets, globally.
A big thank you to Martin Cubertafond for mentioning WINE MARKET COUNCIL research in his very insightful article in Vitisphere on how the wine industry needs to innovate. Cheers! Gino Colangelo, Robert Joseph, Christian Miller https://lnkd.in/ePKVrrFX
