Elder abuse is a serious issue that affects countless seniors and often goes unnoticed. Here’s how we can play a role in protecting our elderly loved ones and clients: 1. Recognize the Signs: Physical injuries, sudden changes in behavior, isolation, unexplained financial activity, and neglect in personal care are all possible indicators of abuse. 2. Stay Engaged: Regular communication and visits help build trust, making it easier for seniors to express concerns and for us to observe changes. 3. Report Suspicious Activity: If you suspect abuse, report it immediately to adult protective services (APS) or local authorities. Early intervention can prevent further harm. By remaining vigilant and proactive, we can help ensure a safe and dignified environment for the elders in our community. Let's make a difference! #SeniorCare #ProtectOurSeniors #ElderAbuseAwareness

The federal government cut funding to Adult Protective Services by more than $170 million between 2022 and 2023, even as 10,000 #babyboomers turn 65 each day. As a result, #aging #Americans lose access to resources for #abuse #intervention, affordable housing, meals, and medical care. $100 million from Congress means more case workers, more #scam #prevention, and more help to vulnerable victims. https://lnkd.in/eqaJitki
