During my 2 weeks Induction and pre-foundation program, I've realized what I used to hear that MBA is not only about making right selections but also about right rejections. If there is a useless event, don't attend it always. As these events are mostly in the later part of the days, so prioritize resting yourselves instead and then have dinner which helps you to wake up till late and it ultimately helps you in learning more. In short, thoughtful choice and balance is very important in managing your time as the only time for skill enhancement is first year when we are a bit far from rat race of placements. After all, our primary goal is to be industry-ready, and that requires a focused approach that aligns with our long-term goals while still enjoying the vibrant cultural and social aspects of our MBA journey. #opinion #mba #selfimprovement #content

When I sat for my MBA admission interview, I was asked, "Why MBA?" At that moment, I struggled to put my emotions into words. But on graduation day, I finally found my answer. I said: "MBA might be just a degree for some, but for me, it holds immense significance. This degree is my mom’s dream. She always wanted to study but couldn’t. I promised her, ‘Don’t worry, Mom, I’ll do it for you.’" Pursuing my MBA while managing a demanding night-shift job was one of the toughest challenges I’ve faced. Working through the night and attending classes by day required a level of focus, time management, and determination I didn’t know I had. But this journey was about more than just completing assignments or earning a degree—it was about resilience, grit, and fulfilling a promise. This experience taught me: ✔️ How to manage time and energy under intense pressure. ✔️ The value of persistence when balancing competing priorities. ✔️ That no challenge is too big when your purpose and motivation are clear. To everyone balancing work and studies: it’s not easy, but every sacrifice and sleepless night is worth it. Keep striving, keep growing, and never lose sight of your dreams—or those who inspire them. 🌟 #MBAJourney #NightShiftAndStudies #TimeManagement #FulfillingDreams #Resilience

The MBA Journey: A Tough but Transformative Ride Pursuing an MBA has been one of the most challenging phases of my life. I worked hard to get into the college I dreamed of, but things haven’t gone the way I had planned. Even with prior work experience, I thought I’d have a smoother ride—but reality has been different. Every day feels like a balancing act between the intense SIP process, academic pressure, and personal challenges. Overthinking makes it even harder, and there are days when I wonder if leaving my job was the right decision. This post isn’t about achievements or milestones. It’s a reminder to my future self of what I’m going through right now, so that when tough times come again, I can look back and know I made it through once, and I can do it again. For MBA aspirants: know that this journey will test you in ways you can’t predict. It’s not just about academics or placements, it’s a process of unlearning, relearning, and growing through discomfort. It is tough, but it’s worth it. To anyone facing challenges right now, hang in there. It might not feel like it, but it will get better. One day, you’ll look back and realize this phase was shaping you into the person you’re meant to be.

Ever wondered what sets a remarkable MBA journey apart from an average one❓ I recently asked my 10 batchmates for their top tips on making the most of MBA life. Here's what they said: 🔹Network Extensively: Connect with professors, batchmates, seniors, juniors, and co-interns for valuable relationships. 🔸Participate in Extracurricular Activities: Join clubs, engage in case competitions, and pursue live projects for practical experience and friendships. 🔹Personal and Professional Development: Attend seminars, guest lectures, and pursue certifications to expand knowledge and add value to your profile. 🔸Balance Academics and Fun: Party, travel, and participate in sports to destress. Explore campus events and try new things for a diverse MBA journey. 🔹Focus on Self-Improvement: Set goals, stay updated with business news, and prioritize well-being (both mental and physical). 𝐀𝐍 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐀 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐎 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐔𝐏𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆 ~10,000 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐎𝐅 ~25 𝐈𝐈𝐌𝐬/𝐓𝐎𝐏 𝐁-𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋𝐒 𝐀𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐒 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐀. Dear incoming juniors, I hope you are doing well. By this time, you all would have finalized college or would be in the final phase of deciding on it, in which you will be going for your MBA degree for the next two years, 2024-2026. In this regard, there were a few key points that I would like to talk to you about, such as what you should keep in mind before landing on campus so that it would be beneficial for you before you start your journey. 1. 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐒 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐓 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍: It may be that you have gone through many ups and downs in the past, be it in your career or personal life, but now that you have a life-changing opportunity in the form of the offer in hand, keep your past experiences aside and start with a fresh note in the upcoming months. 2. 𝐍𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐈𝐂𝐄: There is always a better choice we wish we could have taken: a better performance, a better college, better marks, or better experience. But if you have decided to take a call, believe in that. 3. 𝐃𝐎𝐍'𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐊 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄: If your decision to join the college is final, there shouldn't be regret about dropping out for the following year. Every time is perfect to start something. 4. 𝐃𝐎𝐍'𝐓 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐊 𝐁𝐄𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐔𝐒: Be it with respect to people, placements, or academics. Come with a free and fresh mind. 5. 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐒 𝐁𝐄𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆: Before coming to campus, visit your past company, college, coaching, and school, and meet the people who made you what you are today. Your teachers, managers, and seniors who have helped you. Be grateful to them. 6. 𝐃𝐎𝐍'𝐓 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄, 𝐘𝐎𝐔'𝐑𝐄 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐐𝐔𝐄: There would be people you would meet with different experiences, academics, and backgrounds. Refrain from comparing yourself with them; everyone is unique, and B-schools provide a platform to prove yourself. 7. 𝐍𝐎 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐄𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐒: There may be 100s of things you would have heard from others that you should start just after entering, be it in networking, academics, participation, case studies, etc. But chill, don't think about mammoth pressure before. All things will be done well, and you will handle them. In the end, it's always one mantra: 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐭. Go free-minded, live your life, make memories and friends, and have a great time ahead. If you need any help, feel free to contact me. :) Best wishes for a successful and enriching academic year! Warm regards, Pushpesh Prashant Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli

Pursuing an MBA is a significant decision that requires not just academic preparation but also emotional and mental readiness. Here’s a guide to help you navigate the journey from deciding to pursue an MBA, tackling entrance exams, managing stress, and choosing your specialization. Choosing the right MBA specialization is crucial—options like Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations, IT, or General Management should align with your skills and career goals. After graduation, focus on networking, staying industry-relevant, and honing soft skills like leadership and communication to transition successfully into the professional world. Clearing MBA entrance exams like CAT, XAT, SNAP, GMAT are the first step, each with unique formats and competition levels. MBA entrance test preparation needs a strategic planning. The fraction with which to start is with syllabi, questions, and marking features. In other words, people should start with properly defined objectives based on existing strengths and the gradual enhancement of the weaknesses. Develop a study schedule where there is a segment for the formation of concepts, segment for practice and test, segment for revision. Mock tests should be conducted frequently because speed is very important—understand your mistakes and the best possible ways of getting through them. Join the coaching classes or group discussions or online forums when require more clarities or new thought process. MBA preparation is for persistence—daily practice beats the cramming at the last moments most of the time. While working, find ways to combine study with breaks using methods such as Pomodoro and focus on health by eating right, getting lots of sleep, and exercising. The second tip is to learn how to reduce stress by meditation or other techniques and loosen up about one’s concerns with friends or seniors. After the end of the exam, one should engage in preparation for GD/PI and also updating the current events and building profile with certifications or internships. The MBA journey is demanding but immensely rewarding if approached with the right mindset. Remember, the destination matters, but so does the journey. Celebrate small wins, stay resilient during setbacks, and believe in your ability to succeed. With determination and preparation, you’ll not only crack the entrance exams but also thrive in your MBA program and beyond. The CAT exams may be over, but there are still many other exams ahead this year. Stay focused, keep yourself motivated, and best of luck to everyone who’s preparing! #MBA #MBAEntrance #CAT #XAT #SNAP #GMAT #NIMS #Symbiosis #Focus #Preparation
