Sustainability - Reflecting on various topics before the Chinese New Year break... and one of them is how important is sustainability (and closely related ESG) for us now and for future generations. During my term as president of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and now as Chairman of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, we organized various events on this topic, emphasizing on awareness and initiatives by Canadian stakeholders. It was wonderful to introduce the Honorable Jeremy Harrison, Minister of Trade and Export Development for the Government of Saskatchewan at the Sustainable Saskatchewan Reception organized in collaboration with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore late December. Hosted at the Paradox Singapore Merchant Court, the event commemorated the province's commitment to sustainable development, recognized its expansive economic potential, and emphasized Saskatchewan's global leadership in sustainable agriculture, energy, and natural resources. Key contributors included the Saskatchewan Singapore Office Haut-commissariat du Canada à Singapour | High Commission of Canada in Singapore and esteemed valuable food contributors such as Agrocorp International, HerbYvore , Prairie Berries, and Shandi Global. These partners showcased their amazing products at the event including the Saskatoon Sling! His Excellency, Jean-Dominique Ieraci, High Commissioner of Canada to Singapore & Honorary Chairman of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce emphasized the importance of sustainable initiatives, laying the foundation for Minister Harrison's vision to strengthen ties with Southeast Asia and advance sustainable development efforts. The evening provided attendees with the opportunity to experience and foster collaboration, highlighting Saskatchewan's potential not only regionally but also as a global leader in sustainability. #saskatchewan #sustainabledevelopment #canada #canadabusiness #singaporebusiness #sustainabilityleadership #eventhighlight #saskatoon #collaborationopportunities #greeneconomy #sustainableagriculture #energyleadership #naturalresources #businessinnovation #saskatoonBerry #sustainableproducts #sustainableproducts #environmentalstewardship

It's worthwhile to re-share the announcement on this special day of #Riyadh #GREATFUTURES Summit brought by Department for Business and Trade! Currently, European brands account for 72% of the global high-end market, contributing 10% (€210 billion) to Europe's exports and employing 2.1 million people directly and indirectly. Since its creation in 2010, ECCIA has become an authoritative #advocate for the high-end sector in Brussels, protecting the industry on a number of priority issues including Vertical Block Exemption Regulation and establishing the contribution of the sector to the #Europeaneconomy. Over the next two years, Walpole will oversee ECCIA’s work in Brussels on the main #policypriorities: #brandprotection in general and protection of #intellectualproperty in particular; #trade and #tourism; #sustainability and #ESG aligned to the European Green Deal.
