WELL THAT'S A WRAP FOLKS! Our team closed the year stronger than ever before and took so much HELL outta Hello, they'll probably be twiddling their thumbs from now on. JK! There's always work to be done and businesses to help! Anyway, we're no Steven Spielberg, but we did want to give you a little peek into what we were up to (socially at least) in 2024 We added a Penny to Team Towner (she's a #Remote worker, only comes in for important meetings) We partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City. Come fill our drop box please We got sooo fancy for some great galas! Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Kansas City Girls Preparatory Academy, Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation, and mucho more. We did Monday Moring #Teambuiling activities that weren't stogy and boring. We sent our team to Colorado with Vistage Worldwide, Inc. and they hiked their buns off (HEY! not so big of shocker Julie Stotlar-Towner can indeed hike people!) Obviously we went to A LOT of sports events with our partners, KC Current #kcbaby, and Kansas City Chiefs Julie got cozy with Goldman Sachs and the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business program, so she's a genius now. Asahi Pompey Thanks for doing everything you do. Lucas Salinas and Keith Towner had their brains examined...It's a long story. We ate, we potlucked and BBQ'ed and we solved some mysteries of course! So even though this is just a small little recap and not everything we did to help our community, our team, and our clients in 2024 is captured here, we think you get the jest. Proud to be part of the team building Daffy, a better system & community for #charitablegiving 🎉 When Adam Nash interviewed me, he asked me if "I thought I was giving enough to the causes and charities I cared about?" 🤔 As someone who led the first blood drive at my high school, the first charitable fashion show (Project Delta Glam) at Boston University, and worked hard to find mission-led companies to work for... I was embarrassed to say "No, not enough at all." My personal giving both time and money hadn't increased. Working with your favorite people makes everything better! Having partners like Linnea Miller and Theresa M. Ward make even the most complex of projects an absolute blast. I don’t know what I would do without these two amazing souls! - Joining the COOP team as our first hire is Cason Dremann. This guy is an all-star - literally and figuratively. Cason runs our community development program and is our newest marketing and communications consultant. - Growth means change. With more and more clients coming onboard and having two lanes of expertise (Marketing and People Development) we made the decision to split the two. Granted both are rooted in communication, it’s much easier to serve others with two different websites under the COOP umbrella (www.coopcco.com and www.coopcmo.com). Check them out. - I’m so ridiculously proud of Danny Sutton! He recently started his own geriatric care management company - Cooperative Care Management - and is crushing it already. Joining L'Oréal's #WorthItResume campaign and sharing a setback ➡️to ➡️success story of my own. 💁♀️ 2021: I started, floundered, failed, and closed shop on a new business venture all in LESS than one year. Setback in short: The idea was to form a new professional/social club for doctors and other medical professionals. Some parts went great and some did not. To make a long and painful story short and glossy, my business partner and I parted ways and maintaining this baby entrepreneurial adventure all on my own was a challenge. I didn't have the full chops I needed to deliver on dynamic speakers, amazing meals and exclusive experiences, coordinating group volunteer outings in our community, and lining up CE accrediation for our group all by my lonesome. That's not even touching the sales & marketing required to keep growing the group. So I polled all our (dwindling) remaining members about what to do with this sinking ship. They had really great ideas and many (most?) of them truly wanted to see the group continue. It filled a sincere need and desire for connection amidst a still raging pandemic. But, one woman- a single working parent no less- could not wear all those solopreneur hats and serve this group's needs alone. So I closed its doors only nine months in. What I gained: I made friends and connections in that group that still matter to me today. I feel lucky to have learned from some of our member-speakers like Elena C. Prendergast DNP,APRN,FNP-C,ACHPN and Robert Lamberts. I learned SO much about entrepreneurship. And less than 18 months after closing those doors and feeling like a failure... I had a brand-new role created just for my skill set at UFHealth Jacksonville. Without that failure of an experience, I would've never stood out to the CEO who brought me on board. I would’ve never felt confident speaking professionally to doctors and surgeons as peers. I would’ve never learned how to throw a killer party honoring and celebrating their successes. I needed all these skills and more to do my new job well. And in 2023 at UFHealth I doubled my income compared to what I made that fledging first year in business. ...Plus, every solopreneur's dream: I now had healthcare benefits. 😉 💸 Last but not least, I gained confidence that I can handle failure. I GAINED CONFIDENCE THAT I CAN HANDLE FAILURE. The L'Oréal #WorthItResume campaign started because women feel 81% more pressure not to fail than men. As a woman with many failures under my belt, I want to tell #GenZwomen everywhere not to wait to fail. Go do it- big. Fail with gusto. Fail with style. Fail with rizz. You truly won't get asked into any rooms worth being in until you've risked big enough to fail.
