🔦🔦Candidate Spotlight - UK Charging Edition 🔦🔦 It's been a pretty special past 7 days at Aym Recruitment in all honesty, including our first US Final Interview, First Mainland Europe vacancies, Several huge new client wins and my phone mysteriously started charging properly again after I lost it in a bush after a few pints.... But none of that happens without TOP quality candidates being available for us to take to market (apart from the phone thing maybe.) Without Further Ado, here's a brief summary on the cream of our UK crop right now.. EV Electrician/Supervisor 🔨⚡ 8 years installing DC Rapid Charging Solutions for some of the most noteworthy CPOs in the game. Current company not giving him the progression he needs. In a position financially to lower his salary expectations to get a role with real potential. Perfect storm for you to acquire one of the most sought-after electricians in the EV industry. Commercial Director - CPO/OEM/Installer Partner 💵📈 If I put his name on here, you would know him and be shocked he is available quite frankly. 8 Years in industry, building some of the biggest names in the business commercially, and a "little black book" that is more like the Apostolican Library. EV Site Supervisor/Project Engineer ⚡👷♂️ Cable Jointer by trade of 15 years, spent the last 18 months leading site works for one of the major "EV ICPs" in the space. Highly regarded, incredibly competent, excellent work ethic, and realistic salary expectations. And it wouldn't be one of my posts without at least one of these.... EV Charging Project Manager ⚡👨💼 2 years leading EV projects for both AC and DC charging installations. Competent with DNO process, Product Knowledge, Electrically biased, and he is vastly underpaid. Snap him up and pay him what he's worth before somebody else does! All of the above have been REFERRED to me, are not on the open market, and you wouldn't even know they were looking if I hadn't broadcasted it here. Warning: Beware of Unreliable Employment Agencies in the Wind Energy Industry** As many of us navigate the ever-evolving landscape of the wind energy industry, it's crucial to be vigilant about the agencies we trust to help us secure contract work. While many agencies offer excellent opportunities and support, there are those that unfortunately do not meet professional standards. Here are some red flags to watch out for when engaging with an employment agency: 1. **Lack of Transparency**: Reliable agencies should provide clear information about job opportunities, including detailed job descriptions, compensation packages, and contract terms. If you find yourself struggling to get straightforward answers, consider it a warning sign. 2. **Poor Communication**: Effective communication is key to a successful working relationship. If an agency is frequently unresponsive, unclear, or inconsistent in their communication, it could indicate deeper organizational issues. 3. **Unfair Contract Terms**: Be wary of contract terms that seem overly restrictive or unfair. Take the time to read all documents carefully and seek legal advice if necessary. 4. **High Fees or Hidden Costs**: Some agencies may charge excessive fees or have hidden costs. Ensure you fully understand any fees involved and compare them with industry standards. 5. **Negative Reviews and Reputation**: Research the agency's reputation by reading reviews on platforms like Glassdoor and Indeed. Pay attention to any recurring complaints or negative feedback from other professionals in the industry. 6. **Lack of Support and Resources**: A good employment agency should offer support throughout your contract, including resources for professional development and problem-solving. If they seem disinterested or unhelpful once you've signed the contract, that's a red flag. Remember, your career and well-being are paramount. Don't hesitate to ask tough questions and demand the respect and transparency you deserve. Stay safe, stay informed, and let's continue to support each other in this exciting and vital industry.

As the U.S. grapples with a critical shortage of skilled tradespeople, it's clear that the electrical contracting industry is at a pivotal moment. According to recent reports, nearly 30% of electricians are approaching retirement age, creating a significant gap in the workforce (The Hill). This shortage is more than just a statistic—it's a call to action for innovative solutions and new approaches. I am excited to announce that I am launching a new firm to meet this challenge head-on. By integrating cutting-edge technology and fostering a culture that appeals to the younger generation, we are redefining what it means to work in the trades. We will leverage the latest advancements in AI and smart technology to streamline operations and enhance service delivery. This not only improves efficiency but also attracts tech-savvy young professionals eager to be part of the next generation of tradespeople. As we expand our operations across Colorado and beyond, our vision remains clear: to empower property owners and businesses to transition seamlessly into the age of electrification, all while building a skilled, future-ready workforce. Hiring service technicians is easy. Most companies just don't want to put in the work. The workforce isn't going to magically produce qualified people who want to work for a company that no one has heard of. It should be a crime that the general public barely knows what steam is or how much it impacts the healthcare industry or food industry. We, the boiler industry, are responsible for that failure. We are too busy fixing our own problems that we forget we need to advocate for ourselves. Most companies in the industry lack an online presence and then wonder why no one is applying to the company. If the general public barely knows you exist, do not be surprised when the qualified people who would be great service techs go to general construction or other industries. Company websites and social media are a great way to let other people know what you do, but you have to be intentional about them. Posting a couple of photos here and there saying how you "handle all the best jobs" tells outsiders exactly nothing about the importance of the company. So start today and tell the real story of what your company does and how the work they do is helping the general public. Be consistent and vulnerable, and in 2 years, you will have people applying for jobs who would have never heard of the company before. Pro tip to be consistent? Hire a dedicated media person inside the company. It looks like a waste of money in the beginning, but the right person can dramatically change the company in 2 years if properly supported. It will not happen in 3 months. #boilers #steam #training

Partnering with a proven recruiter is always the way to go - but how should you know which one to choose? 🤔 1️⃣ Recommendations - does the recruiter have real recommendations from actual LinkedIn accounts on their profile? If the recommendations are 'anonymous' or 'confidential', that should paint a pretty obvious picture! 2️⃣ Specialist - are they an actual specialist in their market? Do they understand key terminologies and can they have meaningful discussions, or do they just share articles and copy and paste headlines? 3️⃣ Personality - do they actually have a personality of their own, or are they acting more akin to a robot? Do they have some originality still left in them, or do they live behind ChatGPT? Believe it or not, I wrote all this myself! Any more? Check out Vertiera's employers page below to see why you should be partnering with a proven recruiter today.
Have you seen Vertiera's tried & tested 10-stage process? What are you actually paying for when you engage a recruiter? How do you know they can deliver? What is the longest job you have had? Back when I was growing up and starting to work, there was a lot of value put into how long you stayed at a job. I never had heard of a "contract" position. How times have changed. There are many people who only work contract jobs now, and people who take a contract job to buy a little more time until they find a permanent one. Which do you prefer? #longevity #permanentjob #contractjob #polarbear
