As the U.S. grapples with a critical shortage of skilled tradespeople, it's clear that the electrical contracting industry is at a pivotal moment. According to recent reports, nearly 30% of electricians are approaching retirement age, creating a significant gap in the workforce (The Hill). This shortage is more than just a statistic—it's a call to action for innovative solutions and new approaches. I am excited to announce that I am launching a new firm to meet this challenge head-on. By integrating cutting-edge technology and fostering a culture that appeals to the younger generation, we are redefining what it means to work in the trades. Our mission is to not only address the immediate backlog of electrical work but also to develop a robust workforce ready to meet current and future demands. This new venture is more than just an electrical contracting firm; it is a beacon of modernization and opportunity. We will leverage the latest advancements in AI and smart technology to streamline operations and enhance service delivery. This not only improves efficiency but also attracts tech-savvy young professionals eager to be part of the next generation of tradespeople. As we expand our operations across Colorado and beyond, our vision remains clear: to empower property owners and businesses to transition seamlessly into the age of electrification, all while building a skilled, future-ready workforce. Stay tuned for more information on this exciting new venture. Together, we can power the future! #ElectricalServices #TradeShortage #Innovation #Technology #FutureOfWork #Sustainability

Partnering with a proven recruiter is always the way to go - but how should you know which one to choose? 🤔 1️⃣ Recommendations - does the recruiter have real recommendations from actual LinkedIn accounts on their profile? If the recommendations are 'anonymous' or 'confidential', that should paint a pretty obvious picture! 2️⃣ Specialist - are they an actual specialist in their market? Do they understand key terminologies and can they have meaningful discussions, or do they just share articles and copy and paste headlines? 3️⃣ Personality - do they actually have a personality of their own, or are they acting more akin to a robot? Do they have some originality still left in them, or do they live behind ChatGPT? Believe it or not, I wrote all this myself! Any more? Check out Vertiera's employers page below to see why you should be partnering with a proven recruiter today.
Have you seen Vertiera's tried & tested 10-stage process? What are you actually paying for when you engage a recruiter? How do you know they can deliver? Are you having trouble keeping Techs Low voltage companies often struggle to keep technicians for a few key reasons. First, the pay in the low voltage sector can be lower compared to other trades like high voltage electricians or IT professionals. When techs realize that their skills could be more lucrative in different industries, it's tough for them to stay put. Another issue is the physical demands of the job. Technicians often have to pull long hours, work in difficult environments, and constantly travel between job sites. This combination of labor and low pay often leads to burnout. Lastly, there’s the lack of clear career advancement. Many techs feel stuck doing the same work without a clear path to grow into more advanced roles or move into management positions. To address this, low voltage companies could start by increasing pay scales to be more competitive with related fields. While it might mean higher overhead costs, investing in techs’ salaries will likely result in lower turnover. Another solution would be to offer better work-life balance, such as limiting travel or giving techs more predictable hours. This helps prevent burnout. Lastly, companies could focus on offering clear career development paths. Training and mentorship programs that give techs the chance to learn new skills and move up the ladder would help retain talent longer.

Warning: Beware of Unreliable Employment Agencies in the Wind Energy Industry** As many of us navigate the ever-evolving landscape of the wind energy industry, it's crucial to be vigilant about the agencies we trust to help us secure contract work. While many agencies offer excellent opportunities and support, there are those that unfortunately do not meet professional standards. Here are some red flags to watch out for when engaging with an employment agency: 1. **Lack of Transparency**: Reliable agencies should provide clear information about job opportunities, including detailed job descriptions, compensation packages, and contract terms. If you find yourself struggling to get straightforward answers, consider it a warning sign. 2. **Poor Communication**: Effective communication is key to a successful working relationship. If an agency is frequently unresponsive, unclear, or inconsistent in their communication, it could indicate deeper organizational issues. 3. **Unfair Contract Terms**: Be wary of contract terms that seem overly restrictive or unfair. Take the time to read all documents carefully and seek legal advice if necessary. 4. **High Fees or Hidden Costs**: Some agencies may charge excessive fees or have hidden costs. Ensure you fully understand any fees involved and compare them with industry standards. 5. **Negative Reviews and Reputation**: Research the agency's reputation by reading reviews on platforms like Glassdoor and Indeed. Pay attention to any recurring complaints or negative feedback from other professionals in the industry. 6. **Lack of Support and Resources**: A good employment agency should offer support throughout your contract, including resources for professional development and problem-solving. If they seem disinterested or unhelpful once you've signed the contract, that's a red flag. Remember, your career and well-being are paramount. Don't hesitate to ask tough questions and demand the respect and transparency you deserve. Stay safe, stay informed, and let's continue to support each other in this exciting and vital industry.

What is the longest job you have had? Back when I was growing up and starting to work, there was a lot of value put into how long you stayed at a job. I never had heard of a "contract" position. How times have changed. There are many people who only work contract jobs now, and people who take a contract job to buy a little more time until they find a permanent one. Which do you prefer? #longevity #permanentjob #contractjob #polarbear
