"Yesterday, I had no idea what to get anyone for Christmas. As of today, I’ve got at least one ace in the hole. Social enterprise #TwoGoodCo has saved my bacon with the new collection it launched with ALEMAIS, the sustainable Aussie fashion label that turns heads with its colourful, artist-first designs. ...If you need any more convincing, Julia Busuttil Nishimura is an ambassador of the range. If Jules is in, you know it’s better than good. It’s Two Good." After so many months of creating our #CookInColour collection, we are blown away by the love we're seeing - thank you so much, Broadsheet Media: https://lnkd.in/gE8tjGiQ #FoodIsLove #Alemais #TwoGoodCo #TwoGood #socialenterprise #businessforgood #ethicalgifts

It is time to start acting rather than just talking about it, time to stop those greenwashing and making money off people, time to face reality and not just sitting in AC rooms with a cup of tea without a way forward. It is time we start collaborating instead of competing with one another and lastly, It is time we build a big community where everyone would have a say. What is LarryRowbs's Educative sustainable fashion game all about and benefits of playing the game? Creating awareness is very important in solving a problem. During our literacy survey, We noticed that a lot of people in different countries don't have knowledge about sustainable fashion, while the few percent who understand it, don't have a deep knowledge about it. This shows why most sustainable fashion projects lack support and struggle so hard. The mission of this game, is to entertain and educate people about sustainable fashion all around the world, create more knowledge and awareness about the solution and lastly form a big community for sustainable fashion and other sustainable projects, where people could share their thoughts, projects for individual supports and also have a say in this community for a way forward. To achieve this goal, We intend to put the first version of this game on kickstarter to raise some funds. The funds raised from Kickstarter shall be used to promote this game to schools, houses and different individuals all around the world to play for free. Kindly subscribe to our landing page below and share it to different people to support us and get informed once we go live on Kickstarter. How Do We Redefine “Enough” in Fashion? The fashion industry produces over 100 billion garments each year, yet millions go unworn or discarded. As consumers and industry leaders, it’s time to ask: • How can we move from over-manufacturing to more mindful production? • What role do consumers and brands play in reshaping this cycle? • Could upcycling initiatives, like our Denim Drive, be a helpful in reducing waste? At Thread Haus, we believe the solutions start with conversations like these. Let’s rethink what we really need and how we can drive meaningful change together. What’s your take? Share your thoughts or ideas in the comments, and let’s collaborate on a more sustainable future. Lets us know if you are interested in donating or contributing to our end of the year denim drive #Sustainability #RethinkFashion #CircularEconomy #MindfulConsumption

A #GivingTuesday reminder: fast fashion doesn’t need your money; the people fixing the climate crisis do. This holiday season, remember: 🌎 Household consumption in the Global North is one of the largest contributors to the climate crisis. 🌎 Between 2000 and 2014, the number of garments purchased by the consumer each year increased by 60%, to around 100 billion garments a year. 🌎 Despite fast fashion brands making more profit than ever before, garment workers around the world are still fighting for basic labor rights, safe working conditions, and fair pay. In Remake’s 2024 Fashion Accountability Report, only one (!!!) of the companies we analyzed stated that it paid a living wage to all direct employees globally. 🌎 Even large fashion brands doing the ‘leading’ work are ultimately still pandering to a global economic system that incentivizes growth based on overproduction, pollution, and exploitation. The vast majority of fashion companies (including many of those assessed in the Remake Accountability report) are still disclosing nothing, investing nothing, and churning out forgettable, low-quality fashion year after year. They deliberately fly under the radar by withholding their supply chain data and avoiding the sustainability conversation entirely. 🌎 The fashion industry is on track to contribute 25% of the world’s carbon budget by 2050. The fast fashion cycle not only devastates our environment but also exploits vulnerable communities, leaving them to bear the brunt of pollution and climate disasters. We can’t afford to wait. For the past 10 years, Remake has been at the forefront of climate action in fashion, relentlessly fighting for an industry that respects both people and the planet. As a nonprofit, your donation will make an immediate difference— this Giving Tuesday, help us fight for a fashion industry that sustains the planet, not destroys it. Your unwanted clothes are treasure! Here's a workshop we did with Alexandra Hospital from last December where a group of participants got to try turning old t-shirts into tote bags - a fun exercise which also imparts basic crafting skills. Besides, there are many more possibilities such as having a fashion swap, turning old clothes into other usable objects and organising a donation drive to repurpose unwanted fashion pieces. With Earth Day coming up (and Earth Month this April 🌏 ), let's upcycle funk-it-up with a sustainability activity at your workplace. Whichever activity you choose, it'll probably be amazing, just the way you are hoping it'll be! #workplaceactivity #workplaceexperience #employeeengagement #corporateworkshops #teambuilding

How can brands make money without making new clothes? 💸 Partner with Loom ♻ A huge part of our vision is to work with brands, providing a circular solution ♻ for their unsold, damaged or returned stock. As the Ellen MacArthur Foundation launches their new initiative, The Fashion ReModel, to encourage brands to scale up their circular business models, I'm asking brands to reach out to us. We can take stock that you would normally donate, or sell at a loss, and transform it into an exclusive collection of unique designs. Not only can you sell these items at a profit 💸 , but also you'll be supporting our incredible community of independent designers 👩🎨 . My ask? If you know anyone working for a fashion brand, who would be interested in partnering 🤝 with us at Loom, please tag them in the comments below. Your support could hugely support us in accelerating our mission to revolutionise the fashion industry and become the home of upcycling 💚 #circularfashion #thefashionremodel #upcyclingfashion Bella Webb Panicko ( Pan) Philippou Georgie Hyatt Scott Staniland Dan Le Vesconte Sarah Marriott Annjana R. Today is #earthday #planetvsplastics One of the biggest impacts we can make as individuals is ditching fast fashion. Embrace vintage, support local charity shops, fix old favourites! 'Fashion is the world’s second-largest industrial polluter, accounting for 10% of carbon emissions. Microscopic fibres from synthetic clothing are now found in waterways and food chains, while piles of unwanted clothing dumped in countries such as Ghana are so big they can be seen from space. Despite all this, the cycle of newness and shopping continues'. #rejectfastfashion #sustainability

Degrowth is always on our minds. Why? 100 billion garments are produced every year, and the fashion industry continues to grow year after year, disregarding planetary boundaries. Although there have been recent industry pushes towards expanded sustainability models, retroactive efforts of donating to environmental charities are not enough if fashion brands do not address the fundamental issues within their production process. Simply put: brands are producing too much product. Remake is committed to holding the fashion industry accountable by advocating for transparency, policy reform, and empowering the next generation of activists with the resources they need to grow into their change-making power. Check out Remake's 2024 Fashion Accountability Report for holistic reporting on the industry's progress and shortfalls: https://hubs.li/Q02SqBss0
