🚴♂️ Pedaling to Victory: Decathlon-AG2R's Triumphs Continue 🏆 In the illustrious Tour de Romandie, DECATHLON AG2R LA MONDIALE TEAM once again showcased their dominance with a stunning performance, securing two impressive stage victories courtesy of Dorian Godon. This triumph not only underscores the team's prowess but also solidifies their standing as a force to be reckoned with in the cycling world. With a remarkable tally of 12 victories thus far in 2024, Decathlon-AG2R proudly claims the 6th position in the rankings of triumphs. Notably, a significant portion of these victories, one-third to be precise, has been achieved at the prestigious WorldTour level, a testament to the team's consistent excellence on the global stage. A closer look at the leaderboard reveals Decathlon-AG2R's esteemed position among cycling's elite. Only five teams have surpassed them in WorldTour victories: UAE Team Emirates from Joxean Fernández Matxin leading with 13 wins, followed by Team Visma l Lease a Bike from Richard Plugge with 9 wins, and Alpecin-Deceuninck with 8 wins, while Lidl-Trek and Bora hansgrohe both stand at 5 wins each. This remarkable feat positions Decathlon-AG2R as a formidable contender in the fiercely competitive cycling arena. Reflecting on the team's journey over the past decade, the current season marks a historic milestone for Decathlon-AG2R. Never before have they achieved such resounding success by the end of April. Contrasting with previous years, where victory counts fluctuated, the team's upward trajectory is evident. In 2015, they secured 8 wins during this period, followed by a decline to 3 wins last season, a modest 4 in 2022, and a solitary win in 2021. Today the Giro d'Italia starts, and for me, both as a fan and as an athlete, this event holds a special meaning. There are several reasons that tie me to this sport: first, my enthusiasm for mountain bike; second, Sneaknit’s expertise in producing gloves and uppers for cycling. The effort and concentration required by this sport, combined with the pleasure of playing it outdoors, make the use of high-quality equipment essential. Over time, we have refined our products to ensure high-performance items that provide safety and performance even at the highest levels of competition. One example is the provision for BOA closure, as shown in this picture, which gives cycling shoes speed, handling and durability for athletes. This system wraps around and conforms to the midfoot area, providing superior heel fixation and optimal connection to the midsole. Deal with it by- Smiling back and keeping on pedalling! The Honking Peeps: Impatient car horns behind you, well, bicycles are slow sometimes (or always?) Deal with it by- Letting them pass, it's not worth the stress. The Early Bird: Needing to wake up extra early to avoid being late, and choosing long minutes to reach your destination. Deal with it by- Making audiobooks/ Podcasts your best friend, all the way! 🚲 Since 1909, the Giro d'Italia has established itself as one of the most prestigious cycling competitions in the world. Part of the Grand Tours, along with the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España, the Giro represents the pinnacle of international cycling. Originally, the race started and ended in Milan, but in the last fifty years, the start and finish stages have varied every year, often crossing international countries. 📌 The 100th edition of 2017 holds the record of the longest route, with a total of 3,615.4 kilometers. 🚵♂️ This year, the competition started on May 4 and will end on May 26. The route extends for a total of 3,400.8 kilometers, crossing some of the most fascinating regions of Italy. Cyclists will face 21 stages, characterized by challenges that include both challenging climbs and fast flat stretches. 🏆 The first stages have already given unforgettable emotions, with Tadej Pogačar who yesterday reconfirmed the pink jersey winning the 15th stage of Giro d'Italia. 🌍Giro d'Italia continues to be a symbol of resilience and sporting spirit, uniting people of different nationalities in a celebration of sport and determination. NATO or other Organizations are also responsible for protecting our forests and oceans and all humanity with peace . They should respect to all thoughts without considering racism and finally developing to keep our planet Earth . We have no other place to live as alternative except Earth . Let’s young leaders control future of our planet. NATO and Organization are responsible to bring peace not to manufacturing war guns and tools . We are all in one ship . ‘No other invention combines usefulness with pleasure as closely as the bicycle.’ – Adam Opel 🚴♂️ Under this motto, we took part in City Cycling 2024 with 23 active cyclists. During the 3-week phase we cycled almost 4,000 km and thus avoided around 660 kg of CO2. 🎉 With this achievement, we as SIBA are in 11th place in the municipal ranking – a great achievement! 🌟 City cycling is not just about having fun and winning great prizes, but above all about encouraging as many people as possible to switch to bikes in their everyday lives.
