Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Intersectionality are at the core of our work at the Institute of Global Prosperity. “We continually strive to improve how we work together and collaborate with others in an equitable manner focused on social justice outcomes." – Professor Henrietta Moore, IGP’s Founder and Director But what does that actually mean? We: 🔎 – build our research around addressing inequalities and social justice. 📅 – host events on EDII and how these questions relate to inclusive visions of prosperity. 📚 – run projects to ensure our teaching materials and methods are inclusive. 🎓 – offer scholarships and programmes for students and graduates from under-represented backgrounds. Today we are delighted to launch the Framework for Inclusive Learning and Teaching. This is the 9th and final framework in the series of Essential Frameworks for Enhancing Student Success. Inclusive learning and teaching is the intentional development of approaches that support all our students to thrive. Rather than positioning inclusion and quality as competing priorities, an inclusive organisation promotes inclusion as the foundation for quality learning and teaching. Elliott Spaeth, Senior Consultant, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at Advance HE, introduces the framework, why it's important and the vision for how the framework can be put into practice: https://lnkd.in/e5Yyh6DE Access the framework here: https://lnkd.in/eGShxeYB The framework has been developed from the findings of the forthcoming literature review led by Professor Stella Jones-Devitt and Alan Donnelly. Their contribution through summits and the review has emphasised the importance of this critical area for student success. #StudentSuccess #Inclusion #Teaching #Learning #QualityHE #HigherEducation #Mattering #StudentBelonging

https://lnkd.in/dBedD-F4 The transformative role that education plays in shaping a peaceful future resonated unanimously in November 2023 when the new Recommendation on Education for Peace, Human Rights and Sustainable Development was adopted by all 194 UNESCO Member States at the 42nd session of the General Conference. This is the only global standard-setting instrument that lays out how education should be used to bring about lasting peace and foster human development through 14 guiding principles. The Recommendation acknowledges that education in all its forms and dimensions, in and out of schools, shapes how we see the world and treat others, and it can be a pathway to constructing lasting peace. The text indicates that positive transformations are needed in multiple domains ranging from digital technologies to climate change and gender equality.

Yesterday our founder and CEO Nic Ponsford FRSA FIESE 🥊 was keynote speaker for a really important session on ‘Understanding Neurodiversity’ at the SSAT Network Conference. There was a fantastic turnout, and feedback from attendees was really positive, highlighting the importance of these conversations. We're proud to be part of this fantastic event and contribute to an inclusive future for young people. Grace Hardy, Director at SSAT said, “Awareness, training and specialist support to ensure equality and fairness. Once there is more understanding - more will be achieved. Fascinating input from Nic Ponsford at Global Equality Collective” Discussing how we can embrace #neuroinclusive cultures in education to support our neurodivergent students, colleagues and families is key to our #InclusionRevolution so Nic was thrilled to be invited to speak at this event by her former mentor, SSAT’s Head of Curriculum and Achievement Alex Galvin The conversation on #IntentionalInclusion continued as we heard from Freya Spicer-White on the topic of ‘Creating inclusive classrooms’ before we heard from some schools for more insights into inclusion in real life settings. At the GEC, we believe that truly inclusive schools are built by embracing the needs, perspectives, and experiences of our neurodivergent students, staff, and communities. Only through understanding and intentional inclusion can we create environments where everyone feels valued and supported.
