Uganda Tourism Board’s Post

Exploring New Horizons for Uganda’s Agro-Tourism Industry! The Uganda Convention Bureau (UCB) team recently met with the Agro-Tourism Association to explore exciting MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) opportunities presented by the Global Agritourism Network (GAN). This network unites agritourism stakeholders globally—farmers, scholars, researchers, tour operators, hospitality experts, and more—to enhance the impact of agritourism worldwide. In a forward-looking discussion, the Agro-Tourism Association expressed its interest in partnering with UCB to attract prestigious global agritourism events, such as the Global Agritourism Conference, to Uganda. Hosting this landmark event would be an invaluable opportunity for Uganda’s MICE and agritourism industries. For the destination, it means: ✅ An opportunity to showcase Uganda’s diverse agricultural landscapes, local farming practices, and sustainable tourism initiatives to a global audience. ✅ Attracring high-spending business travelers and agritourism enthusiasts. ✅ Building international collaborations, linking local farmers with global agribusinesses. ✅ Enhancing Uganda’s reputation as a leader in agro-tourism. For the local Agro-Tourism Association, it provides: 🌾 A platform to highlight Uganda’s agricultural innovations and promote local products. 🌾 Networking opportunities with key global stakeholders. 🌾 Support for community-based tourism projects and sustainable practices. 🌾 Knowledge exchange to enhance farming techniques and agritourism expertise. The potential impact aligns with Uganda Convention Bureau’s broader MICE strategy—driving economic growth, tourism development, and community upliftment. We’re excited to see what the future holds as we explore these transformative opportunities for Uganda! #MeetInUganda #ExploreUganda #ResponsibleTourism
