'The main challenge in El Salvador to achieve the goal of 90% of girls vaccinated by age 15 is the lack of information among the general public, especially parents and teachers, about the availability and safety of the #vaccine, as well as the lack of training of primary care health personnel regarding HPV vaccines.' – Dr Lisseth Guadalupe Ruiz de Campos. UICC’s new grants are empowering local organisations to overcome barriers and increase #HPV vaccination in low- and middle-income countries. These efforts support the World Health Organization's goal of vaccinating 90% of girls by age 15. Read more about how these projects are making an impact - https://bit.ly/40QD6RI

Results demonstrate that the HPV vaccine is most effective against HPV-related disease outcomes when given at younger ages, emphasizing the importance of on-time vaccination. The most effective age is 9 to 14 years. "The vaccine is safe, so it won’t hurt you if you’re older. But it won’t provide the same benefits as when you were younger." --Lois Ramondetta, M.D. Physician Here are some links that can help you to understand preferable age for HPV Vaccine https://lnkd.in/eCzB9iHV https://lnkd.in/e-vZwuAJ #CancerCFI #HPV #Cervicalcancer #Cancerprevention #CervicalCancerElimination #HPVVaccination #NGO #PublicHealth #CommunityAction #PreventCancer #HPVvaccine

HPV vaccination is recommended for youth ages 11–12 and could prevent more than 90% of HPV-related cancers. Since the #HPV vaccine was first introduced in the U.S. in 2006, rates of HPV infections and cervical precancers have decreased significantly among teens and young adults. Our HPV Vaccine Toolkit describes three approaches to increasing HPV vaccination—especially among adolescents— at a Title X-funded family planning site. Let's harness the power of six degrees of separation to make a difference! Share this post with six people, encourage them to share it with six more and let's spread the word to save lives. In 2022, only 52% of girls and 56% of boys got fully HPV vaccinated in the UK. If we want to eradicate these types of cancers by the end of this century, we must increase vaccination uptake. We encourage all parents to sign their children’s HPV vaccine consent forms. Because preventing cancer beats curing it. Let’s #SignAwayCancer and protect our loved ones. #HPVVaccine #CancerPrevention #SpreadTheWord #PowerOfSixDegrees #SignAwayCancer #HPV

Excited to share that today, alongside two of my classmates, I presented a Knowledge Product (KP) in my Evidence-Based Policy and Stakeholder Dialogue at the University of Luzern, targeting policy makers to support a mandate requiring HPV vaccination for adolescents enrolled in school. 🌏Why ‘90 by 30’? It’s a commitment to achieve 90% HPV vaccination coverage in both genders by 2030, a goal that aligns with the World Health Organization global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem. By reaching this milestone, we can dramatically reduce HPV-related cancer cases not only in high-income countries like Switzerland but also in the Global South. Our visual infographic illustrates the current challenges, barriers, key stakeholders, their call-to-actions, and future projections to show what the future could look like, offering a comprehensive overview of the proposed mandate's impact. ℹ️💥 Do you support the WHO's global goal for 90% HPV vaccination coverage by 2030? First qualitative research study conducted in Turkmenistan focuses on HPV vaccination Within the framework of a WHO-European Union joint project on immunization in central Asia, the WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan jointly conducted the country's first qualitative research study. The results of the research conducted over 3 weeks in late 2023 will serve as the basis for activities to increase public awareness about HPV and sustain confidence in HPV vaccination in the future. The Ministry asked WHO to conduct a qualitative research study to identify what parents know about HPV, the diseases it can cause, the effectiveness of vaccination in preventing these diseases, and especially what questions or concerns they have on HPV vaccination that need to be addressed in a transparent and accessible manner. https://lnkd.in/eCMCy9Xy #PublicHealth #Europe #StayInformed #StayEmpowered

❗️The stagnation in vaccine coverage and the increase in children missing life-saving vaccines are indeed concerning, especially with the resurgence of measles outbreaks in many countries. ✨However, the progress in #HPVvaccination among adolescent girls is a silver lining, highlighting a positive step towards combating #cervicalcancer. It's a reminder of the crucial role that strong immunization programs play in protecting public health. ✨Let's continue to advocate for and support robust #vaccination initiatives to ensure no one is left behind. #PublicHealth #Vaccination #GlobalHealth
The new global #immunization coverage data 📊 is out: 🔸 Vaccine coverage stagnated in 2023 🔸 2.7 million more children were left without life-saving vaccines compared to 2019 🔸 Low vaccine coverage is already driving measles outbreaks Over the last 5 years, #measles outbreaks hit 103 countries. Low vaccine coverage (80% or less) was a major factor. In contrast, 91 countries with strong measles vaccine coverage did not experience outbreaks. It's not all bad news: In 2023, 27% of adolescent girls globally received at least 1 dose of the HPV vaccine, which provides protection against #CervicalCancer. That's a 7% increase since 2022. An important step towards a world free of cervical cancer. More vaccination trends ⬇️ https://bit.ly/3LpE7HA
