The age at which domestic abuse victims are recognised by law is to be looked at after the murder of 15-year-old Holly Newton. Currently, the abuser and the victim must be over 16 for it to be considered a domestic abuse crime. One of the things that employers can do is to promote the Silent 999 call. Although the majority of victims of domestic abuse are female, men can also be controlled by coercive and abusive behaviour and this documentary provides voice and validation to those survivors. I think that it is really important that anyone experiencing domestic abuse feels able to speak up and reach out for support, be that female or male victims. Child abuse is a global crime and we need global action to eradicate it. Because millions of children globally live in the same household as their abusers. Maybe, collective moral effort and political will to invest more funding can eradicate child abuse by 2030.
