🎥New video online! We just published the video news release for the ULTIMATE project, showcasing two of our demo cases on Water-Smart Industrial Symbiosis, short WSIS. What makes these two cases so special? 🇮🇹 In Rosignano, Italy, partners from Università Politecnica delle Marche , CONSORZIO ARETUSA, Consorzio Polo Tecnologico Magona, and West Systems S.r.l. are working on solutions to avoid saltwater intrusion in the wastewater treatment plant. By implementing reverse osmosis desalination and an early warning system for salinity, they're ensuring recycled water meets the required quality standards. 🇬🇷 In Nafplio, Greece, our partner Greener than Green Technologies SA installed a pilot which is extracting valuable polyphenols from the wastewater of a fruit processing company. With the recovery of these valuable byproducts there are new buisness opportunities for industries in the food and cosmetics sectors. Have a look to get to know more! #CirulaEconomy #IndustrialSymbiosis #WaterReuse #WSIS #DigitalTools #MaterialRecovery

Meet Nikolai Jørgensen, the CEO and co-owner of DANSK STÅLMONTAGE A/S, whom I visited in the summer heat. Four big pyrolysis plants are placed around Denmark, and together with AquaGreen ApS, Dansk Stålmontage has produced all four of them in their production facilities near the harbour in Odense. Also, we talked about the company's plans and possibilities. A lot of international customers have shown interest in pyrolysis plants (actually AquaGreen expects to grow significantly in the coming years), and on top of that, the Danish Government prioritizes investing DKK 10 billion (more than 1.3 billion EURO) in ensuring storage of carbon via biocoal. Curious about the pyrolysis industry? Sign up for the pyrolysis investor event in Odense https://lnkd.in/dARNKx3B (Free admission; Language: Danish) The event is hosted by EIFO, Food & Bio Cluster Denmark and Invest in Odense #CarbonCapture #PyrolysisTechnology #GreenTechnology #Sustainability #ClimateAction #Denmark #Odense #EIFO #FoodBioClusterDenmark #lovemyjob

🌟 Unlocking New Opportunities with Cortus Biochar REACH Registration!🚀 We are excited to share that Cortus biochar has achieved a significant milestone by completing its registration under the European Union's REACH regulation, with the EC number 240-383-3. This achievement is not just a testament to our commitment to environmental sustainability; it's a gateway to unparalleled opportunities in the burgeoning biochar market. The recent expo Bio360 I Nantes, shed light on a remarkable trend: the demand for biochar is now matching, if not exceeding, the interest in biogas. This surge in demand highlights a unique opportunity for Cortus, especially in a landscape where biochar producers are few and far between. Our facility in Höganäs is perfectly positioned to be a major player, thanks to its leading production capabilities of certified biochar, used in diverse applications from improving soil to enhancing steel production. This REACH registration opens up the floodgates for us to meet the rising market demand head-on. It legitimizes our operations across the EU, allowing us to manufacture and import biochar, or to produce or import products containing it. The potential for expansion and tapping into new markets is vast. With the biochar industry on the cusp of significant growth, Cortus is ready to explore and fully capitalize on these emerging opportunities. Our Höganäs facility is not just a testament to our capabilities but a beacon for sustainable innovation, poised to meet the growing market needs with high-quality, eco-friendly biochar solutions. #CortusBiochar #Sustainability #REACHRegistration #MarketOpportunities #BiocharDemand #EcoInnovation #CircularEconomy

Important Kick-off for 11 industrial biomethane-plants in Andalusia 🌱 The project team consisting of VORN Bioenergy, project developer Greenar and the world's largest olive by-product manager Oleícola El Tejar heralded the construction of 11 industrial biomethane plants in Andalusia with a major event attended by numerous representatives from state and local politics as well as the mayors of the municipalities involved. In the iconic Córdoba Congress and Exhibition Palace directly opposite the world-famous Mesquita Augstín López, Territorial Delegate of Economy, Finance , European Funds and Energy and Mines of the Junta de Andalucia, Antonio Díaz, President of the Córdoba Confederation of Employers (CEXO) and Industry, and Daniel García-Ibarrola, Ninth Deputy Major and Delegate for Sustainability and Environment of the Córdoba City Council emphasised the importance of the collaboration for the environment and the regional Economy. 🌾 Dr William Sganzerla, Head of Engineering at VORN Bioenergy explained the innovative, highly efficient and patented technology to produce Biomethane and food-grade CO2 from olive pomace in an industrial scale. The biomethane is fed into the regional gas grid, the CO2 is used in the industry and the fermentation residues are returned to the olive growers as valuable fertiliser. This creates a completely closed cycle in terms of circular economy. "Today's event has once again emphasised the importance for the Andalusia region. The entire project represents an investment of more than 300 million Euros. Preparations for the pilot plant and the construction of the first plants are in full swing, and we expect construction of the first plant to begin at the end of 2026,"says VORN’s CEO Thorsten Holl. ♻️ The Cooperative Oleícola El Tejar represents 261 associated oil mills and more than 160,000 farmers with about 40% of the Andalusian olive pomace. The 11 Biomethane plants will have a capacity of approx. 1 TWh gas per year. This is an equivalent of the thermal consumption of approx. 200.000 households. #VORNBioenergy #GreenEnergy #WeAreVORN #Biomethane #Sustainability #Partnership #CircularEconomy

Carbonization of residues from sugar beets and other food production is a sustainable, circular and above all economically profitable process. We are looking forward to the BioBoosters hackathon event and to present our solution: our process produces not only high-quality biochar, which binds the CO2 contained in the organic residues for thousands of years, but also renewable energy, which can be used as process energy in production. A win-win for companies looking to decarbonize and close the loop. #biochar #closingtheloop #circulareconomy #carbonremoval #foodproduction #
