Happy to share our research work at the 8th EURASPHALT & EUROBITUME CONGRESS RESILIENCE - SUSTAINABILITY – INNOVATION, Budapest, Hungary. Wim van der Goes will present our paper “PAN FIBRES AS AN ALTERNATIVE FOR POLYMERS IN POROUS ASPHALT”. He will discuss the advantages of the addition of polyacrylonitrile fibres in Porous Asphalt 8 (PA 8) with pen grade bitumen 70/100 in comparison with the use of PmB. The most important benefits of PA 8 with pen grade bitumen 70/100 and polyacrylonitrile fibres in comparison with PA 8 with PmB are: - a 4 year longer lifespan - 38% lower environmental impact - fewer emissions during the production and laying process - lower production temperature, which saves energy. You hear all about it in Session 8: Asphalt mixture modification on Thursday from 14.00 – 15.30 h on 20.6.2024.

On May 15-16th 2024, you have the chance to network with Guillermo Pozo Zamora from TECNALIA Research & Innovation! He will visit and introduce the #HorizonEU #WaterProofProject at IFAT Munich 2024, the largest international trade fair for water, wastewater, recycling, and municipal technology sectors. https://lnkd.in/e7DPaCbE Within WaterProof, TECNALIA Research & Innovation is studying #FormicAcid products derived from recycled CO₂, their circularity in the value chain, and their validation in synthesising acidic deep eutectic solvents (ADES) for metal recovery from waste streams. WaterProof (urban Waste and water Treatment Emission Reduction by utilizing #CO2 for the PROduction Of Formate derived chemicals) aims at closing the waste(water) carbon loop by creating a novel biorefinery concept converting CO2 emissions from urban waste treatment facilities into valuable green consumer-products. The objective is a technology resulting in a GHG reduction based on CO2 utilization, replacement of fossil feedstock and industrial electrification.
