🌍🔓 #Jointprogrammes present incredible learning opportunities for students, both inside and outside the classroom. But building degree programmes across different countries, cultures and legislative systems comes with its own challenges. What are some of the tools to unlock joint programmes for the benefit of our students? 💬 We were pleased to contribute to the conversation on the European Approach for Quality Assurance of #jointprogrammes yesterday at the EQAR - European Quality Assurance Register Members Dialogue. The European Approach for #qualityassurance aims to ease the external quality assurance process for joint programmes by defining common standards operating at European level, harmonising with national legislation without adding additional criteria. 🗣️ Our Senior Policy Officer Sophia Karner shared insights from the development and implementation of our Joint Bachelor's in European Studies, which is co-delivered by nine Una Europa universities. Sophia presented on the challenges of creating a joint programme across so many partners, each operating in their own distinct #highereducation system, and how the European Approach for Quality Assurance has acted as a facilitator for this transnational collaboration. We all learn in different ways, at different speeds and at different times. We can attend training sessions or courses that will introduce us to particular practical skills or subject-specific knowledge. But how do we then 'make sense' of this knowledge and begin to put it to practical use? How do we develop the additional personal literacies and competencies that we need to navigate a complex word? And how do we make sure that the this learning has a common, international engagement? How do we build cultural literacies? At Lincoln International Business School - University of Lincoln, I have been working with Georgiana Els (Ciuchete) to develop a module that focusses on Personal Professional Development for postgraduate students. We are using our experience and research into team and group learning to engage with and challenge learners to consider as to how they can to develop their own personal attributes, regardless of the particular discipline that they have chosen to study. We use the Inner Development Goals as a backdrop to the module, to add context of a personal journey of Being through to Action.
