As we approach the Start Up Energy Transition Tech Festival 2024, I am eager to engage with fellow innovators and thought leaders.   Tomorrow, on March 19, between 9.35 am and 10.00 am, I’ll be on stage with Mario Fernandez, Head of Catalyst at Breakthrough Energy , at the ‘Accelerating the deployment of emerging climate technologies’ fireside chat. The chat will be moderated by Pia Dorfinger, Director Start-up Ecosystem, German Energy Agency (Dena).   The urgency for sustainable energy solutions has never been more apparent, and it is with a sense of profound responsibility that I will share insights from Energy Dome’s journey. We're excited to share that ABB and Xynteo are partnering to accelerate the energy transition on European islands. We look back on a successful 'Energy Mission 2024 - Benelux Edition' which took place in Brussels last November. This year's edition focused on cross-border infrastructures and value chains for a sustainable industry. Experts from the Benelux and beyond came together to discuss the challenges and opportunities of hydrogen and CO2 infrastructure. In this video 🔽 Frans Weekers (Benelux Union) Bradley Ladewig (University of Luxembourg) and Eric ter Hark (Benelux Business Roundtable) talk about our common interests, the urgency of investments and they explain why cross-border cooperation is essential. During the event, the Benelux Business Roundtable presented their Memorandum to Geert Muylle, Belgian Ambassador and Special Envoy for Energy Security and Critical Resources. 🌟 Watt-IS at the 1st General Assembly of ENPOWER in Vienna! 🌟 Last week, on May 28-29, Henrique Pombeiro, CSO of Watt-IS, had the pleasure of participating in the 1st General Assembly of ENPOWER in Vienna. ✈️ Organized and hosted by Blueprint Energy Solutions and OurPower, the event was a tremendous success. Over the course of two days, Watt-IS connected with fellow partners to discuss the significant progress made over the past nine months and to strategize the next steps for the project. 📊 Henrique had the opportunity to see detailed presentations from the ENPOWER pilots, showcasing their innovative work and plans to integrate the Technical Enablers provided by the project. The annual Nordic Energy Challenge is now open for proposals! Do you want to empower local communities, thereby enabling an inclusive, cultural transition for a green future? Then you should take on the Nordic Energy Challenge 2024! This year's theme is Citizen Engagement, with a focus on how we can best engage Nordic citizens in the green transition to make the Nordics the most sustainable and integrated region in the world. The competition is open to Nordic researchers, think-tanks, companies, and individuals alike, and the best contribution will be awarded with an honorarium of 50,000 NOK, the second best with 20,000 NOK, and the third best with 10,000 NOK. Energinautics' Hybrid conference, (which I call "the Island Conference" in my head), is really the premier event for experts on island and isolated power systems striving for high levels of renewables and deep decarbonization. The speakers are always a mix of highly experienced practicing power systems engineers from island systems and researchers/practitioners/OEMs with cutting edge technology to present.
