Ocean Conservation Project: UNIQLO, Indonesia Contribution to ASEAN Heritage Parks, Wakatobi Island UNIQLO, Indonesia has conducted an Ocean Conservation Project at Wakatobi Island, Southeast Sulawesi, on 28 and 29 May 2024. This was the implementation action from the previous JOIN Campaign conducted last year - UNIQLO’s commitment to the environmental contribution, through collaborative actions with its stakeholders ranging from customers, government, community, as well as NGO. One of the main focuses is tackling the huge amount of plastic waste on the beach that majority comes from other countries and Indonesian regions. In collaboration with local partner Nusantara Nature Conservation Foundation (YKAN), we are doing a series of activities, including cleaning Soha Beach with 150 local people who successfully collected 296 kg of plastic waste and the waste separation education to more than 40 households. We also gave 20 organic and non-organic waste bins to local officers and a chopping machine to the local youth community. Through education and facility support, we expect to increase awareness from the local people to continue separating the waste and using the machine to chop non-organic waste (plastic into smaller pieces that are sold to the waste bank) and organic waste (food into compost that is used as soil fertilizer). On the second day, we invited 30 elementary students to join a mangrove tour and fun snake and ladder environmental games. The program closed with the handover of nine learning materials to the schools curated by Wakatobi National Park with diverse themes like mangroves, coral reefs, birds and others. #uniqlo #powerofclothing #lifewear #uniqloindonesia #sustainability #savetheearth #localcontribution #joincampaign #beachcleanup #oceanconservation #wastemanagement

Uniqlo engineering and quality assurance has a huge problem. I bought an umbrella and the plastic stopper has broken after only using for 200 times. I did not ask for a refund or change. I just wanted a the stopper so that I can repair myself. and the Uniqlo Korea refused.  it's just a small plastic part, and they refused to provide it. why?  really bad engineering and really bad customer service.

This is a great achievement. I’m glad there are companies out there working on sustainability goals and solutions.

Una empresa donde el departamento de RRHH no mira por sus empleados. solo mira por la imagen hacia el exterior.
