Micro economics plays a huge role in optimally utilizing scarce resources. Research must have a heavy component of micro economic analysis especially when resources are in scarcity to help understand the feasibility & the depth of impact a research will do while utilizing these limited resources and realizing it's opportunity cost. I would advice science students who intend to pursue further research to be part of micro economics studies.
