Alongside Professor Hyojung Cha from Kyungpook National University, Dr. Park’s team has successfully developed a supramolecular fluorophore nanocomposite fabrication technology. Using sustainable methodologies, the researchers established a solar organic biohydrogen production system that could open new pathways for renewable energy solutions.

A breakthrough by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) has led to the development of a high-efficiency water electrolysis catalyst that reduces iridium usage by 95%, addressing a critical barrier to scalable green hydrogen production. This innovation paves the way for cost-effective and environmentally friendly hydrogen solutions.

This project involves the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) and Poland’s Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia. Their efforts focus on simultaneously treating industrial wastewater and generating hydrogen using a novel technology.

The HySUCCESS project is launched! This project of GroenvermogenNL brings together a consortium of knowledge institutions and industry leaders to tackle the socio-economic factors critical to a successful hydrogen transition.🌱 Henk Akkermans shares the HySUCCESS leadership with Linda Steg (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen). Tilburg researchers Asel Doranova, Bert Willems, Max Baumgart and Giorgio Monti are involved.   Over the next six years, the project will focus on understanding public acceptance, economic feasibility, legal frameworks, and policy instruments that shape the role of green hydrogen in a sustainable future.   The HySUCCESS team aims to provide actionable insights into hydrogen’s potential role in achieving a carbon-neutral energy system. 🌟 Largest Research Project on Hydrogen Production Technology Granted! 🌟 With 58 partners, a grant of more than €34.5 million and a total budget of more than €50 million, GroenvermogenNL's new HyPRO project is the largest R&D project for green hydrogen in the Netherlands to date. This R&D project was awarded funding by NWO this week. The consortium will conduct research into a more sustainable production of hydrogen by improving electrolysis and plasma technology: "the heart of the hydrogen revolution." The HyPRO project is coordinated by TNO together with our University of Twente (Prof. Guido Mul, Dr. Aayan Banerjee, Faculty S&T). 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲 🌍💪   The Pallamonia research and development program was initiated in 2022, when we received a grant from Norges forskningsråd for a three-year innovation project for the industrial sector.    Together with the renowned Norwegian research institute SINTEF, we’re aiming to use ammonia to separate hydrogen.    The goal: To create pure hydrogen on the spot. A recent study led by Professor Jungki Ryu at UNIST and Professor David Tilley at the University of Zurich has introduced a protective TiO₂ layer that significantly extends the lifespan of photoelectrodes used in solar hydrogen production. This advancement addresses the corrosion issue in metal oxide-based photoelectrodes, a key barrier to commercialization. By integrating polyethyleneimine polymer into TiO₂, the team enhanced the stability of BiVO4 photoanodes, achieving over 400 hours of stable operation. This development marks a pivotal step towards cost-effective, durable solar water decomposition technology, with potential applications in various photoelectrochemical systems.
