https://lnkd.in/g5Ne4RyW Cynical article by the one and only Bertha Henson just shows how much of a joke a certain red company that's tied up, and down, by tons and tons of red tapes was, and still is. So much so that I was reading this aloud, with much glee and gluttony. I couldn't stop reading it again and again and again! Deep-seated cultural issues have never went away despite Neo Kian Hong's claims. Source? Well if you believe me as a good source, good for you. And if you don't, that's on ya. While reading, I also realised I actually did everything Neo Kian Hong set out to do. No, I never had a car to sell off but what I did was indeed, take public transport and even invest more by taking taxis to understand some of the issues our STRIDES Premier driver-partner have been facing. My direct involvement in the core operations of SMRT Corporation Ltd is clear to see, with my ideas permeating through both Buses as well as SMRT Trains, where I have an even more physical presence through really being on the ground and not just #CSERving (#CSERvice) commuters but also at times, directly responding to emergencies and rail disruptions. This is what sets me apart. I have the ground knowledge. And I still think from alternative perspectives, that of a commuter, that of an operational staff and that of management. My intensive and extensive knowledge of the company surprises even myself. Would you have heard of SRE? What about MobilityX? What about SMRT Ventures/Capital/MOMENTUM? Chances are you have not heard all 3 of them, but I have, and I know exactly what they do. Even the more recent ChargEco saga tells us so much more that this red company is still so full of so many red flags ⛳🚩 Yes, I will continue to have people who take me as nothing more than a silly joke (someone previously in SMRT middle management thinks I post a lot of funny things only for fun and entertainment) but now it's clear to see, I'm far from one in the eyes of the company as they continue their attacks on me, first taking down my social media accounts, then forcing me to stand here, and not there, which ended up impacting safety which I cannot stand for ("stand", get it?). What I said in our HR meeting stands. I will not be silenced. You don't know how insulting it is for you to craft and draft some email of encouragement just because my starting GPA was low. Look who exceeded everyone's expectations by having full 4.0 GPA for both railway modules? I even lectured the lecturer with my existing #StationOps experience, dayum! 🤯 Too bad you finally have someone who does care and will undoubtedly uphold your own core values better than you do. And you can't say "You don't know one lah". Respect - Goes both ways. Integrity - You don't seem to have it while I'll shamelessly declare that I'm full of it. Service & Safety - Yes to both. Excellence - As my motto says, "towards public transport excellence and inclusiveness ✨"

Once you’re engaged with the B Corp community, you see more examples of the progress other B Corporations are making and quickly learn about B Lab UK. But thinking back a year ago, I don’t think I could have explained the significance behind a B Corp label. B Corp certification means a business meets the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability and considers the impacts of its actions on all stakeholders beyond just its shareholders. That means balancing profit with people and planet. I organize Outreachy. Unfortunately, AnitaB.org isn't the first, and probably won't be the last Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative to share such news — in the last 6 months, I read many, many similar announcements. In fact, we just published our own call for help: https://lnkd.in/dNmNgU-A To similar initiatives: we need to stick together. We're clearly facing the same issues, and we need to work together to rebuild and fortify our ecosystem. We all have something amazing, possibly groundbreaking, to learn from each other. Initiatives like Outreachy and AnitaB.org are life-changing. On an individual level, they may have been the difference between staying in an abusive situation and achieving enough financial independence and safety to escape it. On a higher level, we've formed and are still forming the next generations of technologists — passionate advocates with extremely rich perspectives. We cannot afford to lose that.
