Cucumber farming in net house by Urban Vatika. Advantage of net house- They provide many benefits, including: 1-One of the main advantages of shade net houses is that they help block excessive sunlight and provide protection to crops from heat burns or UV rays. 2-Shade net farming protects yields from harmful pets and insects. 3-The structure of net houses acts as a barrier against wind or rain, which makes it difficult to enter the excess water of rain in yields. 4-These houses maintain good atmospheric conditions inside the frame and also regulate carbon dioxide levels. 5-They also help keep the soil moist by reducing the evaporation process throughout the day. 6-They are used in sheltering livestock, animal husbandry, and fisheries to protect certain species. 7-Shade net house prices are moderate, making them a reliable investment option. Also, they extend the production of off-season crops by regulating the temperature. #vegetables #hydroponics #horticulture #cucumber #protectedcultivation

Agroforestry is a practice that integrates trees and shrubs with crops or livestock. The trees and shrubs provide shade and shelter for livestock, and they also help to improve soil fertility. The trees and shrubs also help to sequester carbon, which contributes significantly to mitigating the effects of climate change. In addition, agroforestry can enhance agricultural resilience by providing a more diverse and sustainable agricultural system. #ClimateAction

“HAPPY FARMER’S DAY" Strategically using agriculture, livestock and fishing have economic, social and environmental consequences: • Food production, availability and security • Country and Individual Economy sustainability The concept of climate adaptation and mitigation, and a sustainable Carbon credit system, Agricultural secto is the main sector that can transform from a net emitter to a net sequester of greenhouse gases. Farmers are encouraged to change perceptions from poor agricultural practices to climate smart agricultural strategies. “HAPPY FARMER’S DAY” #Agriculture #Fishing #Livestock #Agricultural_land #Agroforestry #Crop_health #Animal_health #Climate_crisis #Climatechange_mitigation #Greenhouses_gases #Carbon_market #Netzero_emissions

This year’s #WorldWaterDay emphasizes the critical link between sustainable agriculture and water 🌱💧 💧Rainfed agriculture produces more than 60 per cent of the food consumed globally. 💧Irrigated crops, livestock, aquaculture and forestry account for 70 per cent of total freshwater. 💧Yet, about one out of six people on the planet face severe water shortages or scarcity in agriculture, with clean water supplies and sanitation remaining a major problem. The beneficial fungal associations that ENSA is improving help plants access water and other nutrients. FARMING TIPS FOR BEGINNERS 1. Start Small: It's best to start small when getting into farming. Start with a small plot of land and a few chickens and work your way up to larger animals and larger plots of land. 2. Research Your Location: Different locations can have different types of soil, climate, and other conditions that could affect the type of crops and animals you can raise. Make sure to do your research before you start. 3. Consider Your Options: Consider what types of crops and animals you want to raise and what type of equipment you will need. Research different options to figure out what will work best for you. 4. Learn About Pests and Diseases: Make sure you understand how to identify and treat common pests and diseases in your area. This will help you protect your crops and animals from damage. 5. Have a Plan: Have a plan for what you will do if something goes wrong. Have a plan for what you will do if there is a drought or if there is a disease outbreak. 7. Stay Up to Date: Make sure you stay up to date on new farming technology and techniques. This will help you stay ahead of the competition and make sure you are doing the best job possible. 8. Find Support: Find a mentor or support group to help you out. This can help you feel more comfortable and get advice when you need it. #Farmingtips #agriculture #smallholderfarmers #Africa #Tanzania #farmingtechnology

Fish farming, also known as aquaculture, is the practice of cultivating aquatic species in controlled environments such as ponds, tanks, or cages. As global demand for seafood increases, fish farming has become an important way to ensure a steady supply of fish while reducing the pressures on wild fish populations. #Fishery(Vertebrata)

Positive synergy in farming. How I attract bees 🐝 to help pollination * Intentional creation of dedicated habitats/nesting sites like bee houses/nesting boxes and pollinator strips in the garden/farm/greenhouse * Minimizing and/or avoiding harmful pesticides and adopting integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to protect bees. * Using farming methods intended to promote ecological balance and reduce harmful chemical use. #pollination #bees

Australian Government and the Government of Pakistan are working together under the Special Investment Facilitation Council to boost food and dairy production in #Pakistan. The government has dedicated 400 billion rupees to improve crop yields through initiatives like #Kisan Cards, #Green Tractors, and #Solar Energy #Projects. For livestock, 20 billion rupees will support programs such as Livestock Farmer Cards and Disease Control #Strategies, with an #annual target of breeding 400,000 calves to help ensure disease-free meat for export. Australia’s #technology is also being used to aid forest #restoration, with #drone monitoring programs and wildlife conservation awareness campaigns. In #aquaculture, a 100-acre shrimp farming pilot project aims to yield 100 tons of shrimp annually. To combat #smog, the government is providing 5 billion rupees worth of machinery for #farmers, alongside efforts to encourage the reuse of paddy straw. This collaboration between #Australia and Pakistan highlights a shared commitment to #sustainable agriculture, #livestock health, and #ecological conservation, ensuring long-term benefits for the country’s agriculture and #rural economy. #DigitalPakistan #TechUpdate

📢 Just out! FAO recounts a Cuban farmer's struggle to eradicate an invasive weed from agricultural land. Mariano Almeida’s land was once taken over by "marabou"—an invasive plant species that covers vast tracts of degraded land around Cuba, displacing livestock and agriculture. With FAO and the Green Climate Fund, Mariano and other farmers in three provinces have succeeded in eradicating more than 5,100 hectares of the aggressive weed. Now, they are in the process of establishing forestry, agroforestry and silvopastoral systems on over 6,500 hectares of land, cultivating trees, shrubs and agricultural crops, as well as livestock on the same plots. These practices help boost #soilfertility, as well as remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, contributing to #climatechange #mitigation and #adaptation. Get the full story here 👇 #ActOnClimate
