Pernod Ricard now India’s biggest Alcohol firm: Jean Touboul the MD of Pernod Ricard said the company has become the country’s biggest alcohol firm, surge passing Diageo by revenue on the back of higher sales for its scotch brand 100 pipers & and liquor brands Blenders Pride and Royal Stag. India outpaced China to become 2nd largest market by sales for the company apart from USA being the first. Sales & Growth The sales from 22-23 of Rs.250.72bn increased to Rs.256.27bn in 23-24 by 6%. In comparison, Diageo net sales fell by 7% from Rs.276.52bn to Rs.257.24bn because it sold 32 lowered priced brands including Haywards, Old Tavern and White Mischief which accounted nearly for a fifth of its sales. During the last quarter, Pernod India’s growth stood around 8-9% YoY. The Indian business of Pernod contributes 12% to its global business. Pernod Ricard earns the majority of its sales from premium and semi-premium like Blenders Pride, Royal Stag and Imperial Blue.
