Let's debunk a common UX myth today! ❌ You need a full-fledged product before starting user testing. Wrong! In fact, early testing is better! Imagine building a house without testing the soil... Risky, right? The same goes for products. ✔ User testing on early prototypes helps you identify potential issues and make crucial adjustments before investing heavily in development. ✔ By involving users early on, you're not just saving time and money, you're also building a product that people actually want to use. ✔ It's like having an early insight into your user’s minds to ensure your product resonates with your target audience. So, next time you're trying to build the "perfect" product, remember this: early user testing is your key to building something exceptional. #UXMyths #UserTesting #DesignProcess

This image features another wonderful testimonial from a very happy client, and it says: "What we’re seeing, and the feedback we’re getting at this end, from the Editorial Board, the Trustees, Instructors and Learners is that the content is so much more visible, discoverable and accessible, now. It’s so obvious that there are so many additional resources for Instructors and Learners. And that’s exactly what we set out to achieve. Kudos to you and the team - this really highlights why it was so important to spend so much time in that early phase on user research, UX and testing." Bravand goes BIG on Discovery. It's an area our clients tell use we excel in: - Getting under the hood of the business requirements and user needs - Understanding a problem and articulating how a solution will actually work - Mapping and designing systems to identify the gaps and opportunities - Mapping and designing every interaction across each user journey If you want a chat about the benefits of spending time on that early phase, give me a shout, yeah? - ross@bravand.com - 07799 885 950

How do you design a product or service when accessing the end-user is its own challenge? In an era when users expect products to be personalized, how do you create experiences that connect with users, even in regulated markets like healthcare, finance, security, etc.? We live in the era of data, yet human decision-making is still rooted deeply in emotions. This framework for #UXDesigners, #UserResearchers, or #ProductManagers draws on techniques from filmmaking, game design, product design, behavioral economics, and consumer psychology to align incentives that turn emotions into user engagement mechanics and core compulsion loops to deliver compelling end-to-end user experiences. Join me at #UXPA2024 this June in Fort Lauderdale, where I will be teaching my course, The X & Why Framework for Turning Emotions into Design Mechanics, User Acquisition, and Retention Roadmaps. https://lnkd.in/gjUJ3Rs2

Did you know that most users skip the learning curve and dive straight into using a product without exploring its full potential? 📱💻 This behavior, known as the Paradox of the Active User, highlights how users prioritize getting tasks done now rather than learning how to optimize their experience in the long term. Understanding this paradox is essential for designing experiences that are both effective and user-friendly. Don’t miss out on these valuable insights! 👀 👉 Swipe through the slides and let us know how you address this paradox in your designs! #UXDesign #UserExperience #ActiveUserParadox #UIUX #DesignThinking #UserBehavior #UXResearch #HumanCenteredDesign #ProductDesign #DesignInsights #TechDesign #UserCenteredDesign

"Research will slow us down". A classic. We've all heard it. Sure, we can talk about research hacks and how to speed things a bit, but that's just a bandaid. The real issue? Fast being the default. So many teams focus on delivery, on speed, on quantity. How much? How long? How fast? "Move fast and break things" sounded cool 15 years ago, but guess what? Things get broken. Broken experiences. Broken services. Broken products. There's a time for speed, but also a time for slow, thoughtful research. The key is choosing the right pace based on the decisions you need to make. Hit the gas when needed, but tread carefully when the terrain demands it. Research shouldn't be a nice to have, a checkbox or a perceived constraint – it should be the compass that gets us to the destination. Use it wisely. Here are Some of the best UX research tools. 🔗 View Portfolio Here: https://lnkd.in/gjBciKyZ #product #uxr #uxresearch #UXResearch #UserExperience #DesignThinking #UserInsights #UsabilityTesting #CustomerJourney #DesignStrategy #HumanCenteredDesign #UserTesting #ProductDesign #UXDesign #ResearchMethods

Sometimes, ideas do flow or don’t, or they’re accepted or not accepted. Your methods might not get the attention they deserve, reviews may be delayed, and people often feel confident in their way of doing things. However, it’s important to take a step back and reflect on the bigger picture. UX is about looking at what we’re building, what we’re planning to build, and how users perceive and interact with it. At the end of the day, users—not owners—drive the success of a product. While traditional methods have their place, the world is increasingly adopting a mix of approaches to better understand and solve problems. To truly address challenges, we need open discussions, workshops, and collaboration. This allows us to assess what went wrong, what worked well, and how to improve moving forward. Design and research form the foundation of a product’s technical strength. They are not just support functions but critical layers that shape the product. For a product to succeed, it requires constant evaluation and open communication with both users and stakeholders at every stage of development. Ground-level research and valuable user insights have the power to reshape a product and its impact on the industry. By listening, learning, and adapting, we can create solutions that truly meet the needs of the people we serve. #uxresearch #usersfirst #research #firstthingfirst #Morningthoughts #product
