Deployed twice in the same day! The defibrillators were definitely needed! Even if deployed on standby, the difference is they are there, even if not used we hope they give reassurance in any medical emergency. We don’t know where they go, we just ensure they are rescue ready and maintained. We try hard to get the defibrillator back on the circuit as quickly as possible We hope everyone involved in any deployment is well CPAD IB is a community fund ran by unpaid volunteers. Every single penny contributes to the life saving equipment. We only respond to the region's most ill and injured patients, so when you see our blue lights illuminating from a distance, you know someone is in urgent need of our care. You could save someone's life when you donate towards our blue light bar. Our blue light bar alerts the general public to move aside and give way, as our specially trained paramedics can travel over 100mph to get to a patient in need. Speed, in these situations, can mean the difference between life and death - the sooner our teams get to a patient, the sooner they are able to perform life-saving interventions by the roadside. Last year, our cars were deployed and our blue lights activated a staggering 745 times - they are simply a necessity on our cars. As a company, we're committed to continually exploring innovative ways to give back and to adopt sustainable practices. National Patient Transport recently donated expired medical supplies to Medical Pantry. Rather than letting these supplies go to landfill, Health and Safety Officer Marc (pictured) took the initiative to organise to give them to this worthy charity. Not only is the useful life of these supplies extended, Medical Pantry is able to provide essential resources to communities where access to these resources may be limited. To date, Medical Pantry has diverted 15 tonnes of medical supplies from landfill and donated 8 tonnes directly to underserved communities. This initiative is just one example of how we're using our resources to make a meaningful impact beyond our business. #sustainability

Following consultation with the Swansea City Disabled Supporters Association, and with other supporters who would benefit from the change, the club reached out for further advice from national charity Colostomy UK. Colostomy UK provided advice to make essential changes to accessible toilets around the ground. Stoma friendly toilets can be found in all four stands (including the away), and also in the Mel Nurse Bar and main reception. UNION TECHNICAL INSTALLS LIFESAVING COMMUNITY DEFIBRILLATORS! We’re proud to have funded a new lifesaving defibrillator in Appin. The equipment is located at Duror Primary School, where we also held CPR and defibrillator training to ensure local people can operate the unit if emergency medical assistance is ever needed. The chances of surviving cardiac arrest increase to 50-70% if a defibrillator is used within the first three to five minutes compared with less than 10% without a defibrillator. The donation is part of a community benefits programme we are delivering in partnership with Highland Council, where we have been transforming homes eligible for the local authority’s Energy Efficient Scotland: Area Based Scheme (EES:ABS). As part of the community benefits package, Union Technical has previously installed defibrillators at Knoydart Community Centre in Inverie and at The Pitstop Cafe in Kintail. It means a lot to us to give back to the communities where we operate. Working with the health & care sector for a number of years has opened my eyes to the amazing job the people that look after our most vulnerable in society do. It is why 20 of us from Howden Health & Care will be walking 34km of the Jurassic Coast to raise awareness and much needed funds for two great charities… The Care Workers' Charity support the almost 2 million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of the largest workforces. They care for some of the most vulnerable people in our society with little recognition and often no reward. Care workers face challenges every day such as loss of income, inconsistent hours, consequences of low recruitment and retention and lack adequate resources to help care workers do their job to the best of their ability. Ickle Pickles are the smallest and sickest babies who need intensive care in neonatal units. There are over 90,000 babies born sick or prematurely in the UK every year. One in thirteen babies are born prematurely. Ickle Pickles can be a full term babies (40 weeks) requiring treatment or surgery or more likely babies born prematurely (before 37 weeks). Babies born before 27 weeks are classed as extremely premature and it is often these tiniest babies who need the most help. Since 2009, the Ickle Pickles Children's Charity has been raising money for the intensive care equipment that treats these babies and helps to keep them alive. Starting at Corfe Castle then along the Purbeck Ridge down to Lulworth Cove and on past the iconic Durdle Moor with some steep ups & downs en route. An elevation of c.1,100m apparently. To be honest I get tired just thinking about it. I am posting this to ask for your support in helping us raise as much as possible for these two worthwhile causes.
