["Bee Kind”!! ] World without bees🐝? The devastating consequences. Bees are often called as the "unsung heroes" of our ecosystems, playing a crucial role in pollinating over 75% of the world's flowering plants and crops. But what would happen if we lost these invaluable pollinators? The absence of bees would devastate global agriculture as many fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds rely on bee pollination. This would threaten our food security and dramatically increase food prices. In fact, it's estimated that bees contribute over $200 billion annually to crop production worldwide. The impact would also ripple through entire ecosystems. This delicate balance of nature would be disrupted, as without bees to pollinate native plants, we may face the plight of #BiodiversityLoss. Other species that depend on those plants for food and shelter would struggle to survive as well. In addition, the implications for human health would be profound too. Bees pollinate many plants that provide us with essential nutrients, vitamins, and natural medicines - their absence would limit the availability of our vital resources. The good news is, there are #BeeKindInitiatives we can do, such as reducing pesticide use, creating bee-friendly habitats, and promoting sustainable agriculture. After all, a world without bees is a world we cannot afford. It is time we all “Bee Kind! #BeesAreEssential #SustainableAgriculture #FutureOfOurPlanet #BeeConservation #BeeKind #VairSustainabilityEducation

It's World Bee Day,,,,, We need to act now!! Theme: "BEE ENGAGED WITH YOUTHS" Bees are under threat. species elimination rates are 100 to multiple times higher than ordinary because of human effects. Close to 35% of invertebrate pollinators, especially honey bees and butterflies, and around 17% of vertebrate pollinators, for example bats, faces global extinction. On the off chance that this pattern proceeds, nutritious yields, for example, natural products, nuts and numerous vegetable harvests will be subbed progressively by staple harvests like rice, corn and potatoes, in the long run bringing about an imbalanced eating routine. Intensive farming practices, land-use change, mono-cropping, pesticides and higher temperatures associated with climate change all pose problems for bee populations and, by extension, the quality of food we grow. let's conserve our ecosystem by: 1-Planting a diverse set of native plants, which flower at different times of the year. 2-Buying products from sustainable agricultural practices. 3-Avoiding pesticides, fungicides or herbicides in our gardens. 4-Protecting wild bee colonies when possible. 5-sponsoring a hive. 6-Making a bee water fountain by leaving a water bowl outside. 6-Helping sustaining forest ecosystems. 7-Reducing, or changing the usage of pesticides. 8-Diversifying crops as much as possible, and/or planting attractive crops around the field. 9-Strengthening the participation of local communities in decision-making, in particular that of indigenous people, who know and respect ecosystems and biodiversity. 10-Enforcing strategic measures, including monetary incentives to help change. #worldBeeDay #nature #Naturescare #bioconservation #forestconservation #FAO #IFAD #UNDP

It's #WorldBeeDay 🐝, celebrating the role of 20,000+ bee species alongside other pollinators in maintaining agricultural production, food security, ecosystems restoration and plant health. Close to 75% of the world’s major crops benefit from pollinators such as bees, birds and bats. Pollinators are essential for fruit, vegetable, oilseed and forage production, as well as for the production of seed for many root and fibre crops. In addition to being essential to food security and quality, pollinators contribute to the production of medicines, biofuels (e.g. canola and palm oil), fibres (e.g. cotton and linen). The large importance of pollinators, for both wild and cultivated plants, means they are fundamental to maintain ecosystem services and uphold global biodiversity. However, pollinators are in decline in almost all parts of the world, pesticide use is considered to be among the top-3 drivers, together with habitat loss and fragmentation, and environmental pollution. #SaveTheBees

Cool to see the data from these data loggers I used to sell being put to good use for a great cause. We need pollinators! I used to use my BioSci degree to understand what data my customers were trying to collect and more importantly what questions their study was answering it in order to make sure they purchases the correct tool for their study. Often sales involved making sure the customers had designed their experiments in such a way that they were going to be collecting the data that answered their broader questions, before getting into the details of these devices. Switching to #Business_Intelligence is fun because I am directly working with data and answering the stakeholders questions. Similar #analytical skills are involved in thinking about the questions stakeholders are asking and the business reasons why they are asking them.

World Bee Day, celebrated on May 20th, is dedicated to raising awareness about the essential role bees play in our ecosystems and the significant threats they face. Proclaimed by the United Nations in 2017, this day honors the birthday of Anton Janša, a pioneer of modern beekeeping, and emphasizes the need for the conservation of bees and other pollinators. Bees are vital to global food security and biodiversity. They are primary pollinators for a vast array of crops, including fruits, vegetables, and nuts, which constitute a significant portion of the human diet. Without bees, the availability and diversity of these foods would decrease substantially, leading to nutritional deficits and higher food prices. However, bee populations are in decline due to various factors, including habitat loss, climate change, pesticide use, and diseases. This decline poses a severe threat to ecosystems and agriculture, as it can disrupt food production and reduce biodiversity. World Bee Day aims to sensitize people about these issues and encourage actions that support bee health and habitat. Activities on this day often include educational events, planting bee-friendly gardens, and advocating for policies that protect pollinators. Individuals can contribute by avoiding the use of harmful pesticides, planting native flowers, and supporting organic farming practices. On a broader scale, supporting sustainable agriculture and biodiversity conservation can create environments where bees and other pollinators can thrive. Through collective effort and increased awareness, #WorldBeeDay seeks to foster a global movement to protect bees and ensure the sustainability of our natural world.
