As we wrap up May, some of my memorable moments were when I led, Women In Product, Senior Leader Conference, on Unifying and Driving Product Strategy with Cross-Functional Peers. I was honored to share strategies and insights in the what, why and how of unifying product strategy with 50+ participants in the conference moderated by Louisa Henry. We explored both generic frameworks and techniques and specific nuances on how product strategy differs based on the organization maturity, startup to mid range to a large global organization, by going back to basic questions. What does unifying product strategy mean? Why does it matter?  Who does it matter to? How can we achieve unification?  What are some proven tools, techniques and frameworks?

I never - in a million years - thought I would hear this! I was on a call with a senior leader for a big tech firm. I've done quite a bit of work with this Fortune 100 company over the last 3 years. But until recently, I was mostly working in partnership with another organization that white-labeled Noteworthy coaching and training programs under their brand. Still, I never expected this. I mean, I share my work, results, and thought leadership on LinkedIn 5x a week. I've been a keynote speaker at San Diego Women's Week twice in the past four years, in addition to all my other speaking engagements in this space. I'm an active member of a number of professional organizations that speak directly to this leader and her organization. So I was shocked (and GRATEFUL ❤️ now) when she said... "So, uhm, actually, I don't really know what Noteworthy is or what you do outside of the work you've done on behalf of [the 3rd party organization]." 🌟 Digital Female Leaders Award & Reunion: More Than Just an Event This weekend at the Digital Female Leaders Award #DFLA24 in Karlsruhe wasn’t just a reminder of the power of female leadership—I felt it. This initiative is more than a celebration; it’s a platform to amplify voices that need to be heard and pave the way for future leaders. While all the finalists were inspiring, the following winners resonated deeply with me: Beate Michel, driving innovation with purpose Barbara Wittenberg, a leader in tech with heart Elena Kountidou, championing sustainable impact Sheri Hagen, bringing untold stories to life Their journeys challenge (me) to rethink how to lead, innovate, and balance ambition with authenticity. But the real magic happened during my reunion with Tijen Onaran, Kristina Faßler, Andrea Partscht, Kathrina Meisl, Christiane Kilian, Pia Hesselschwerdt, Jennifer Brasnić, MBA, JULIA W. , following a Communication Offsite at Hotel Muchele a few months ago. Spending our Saturday on a guided tour whilst meeting female entrepreneurs and discovering how #Karlsruhe is stepping up in the #startup game. This was more than just a catch-up—it was a deep dive into the realities of leadership, both personal and professional. Here’s what I took away: 🔍 The Isolation of Leadership: Leadership can feel isolating. It’s crucial to have a trusted circle where you can share the burdens and joys without judgment. 📢 Leading with Impact: I reflected on how I can make my communication more powerful—whether it’s speaking at an all-hands meetings or presenting a strategy. It’s not just about being clear; it’s about creating moments that stick. 🎯 Authenticity vs. Perfection: We often feel the pressure to be perfect. This weekend reminded me that some of the most impactful leadership moments come from vulnerability and honesty. 🌍 Balancing Personal and Professional: Leadership doesn’t exist in a vacuum. We talked about navigating the complexities of world politics and how personal challenges often inform how we lead. It reinforced for me that showing up as a whole person—not just a title—is where real connection happens. Thank you to Rainer Berak and the entire team from Project A for having me at Knowledge Conference 2024 in Berlin last week. This year's conference was centered around the theme "Activate"—a crucial topic in times of crisis, economic, and geopolitical challenges, where the focus is on activating customers, employees, and other stakeholder groups. Many speakers addressed this topic from various perspectives. It was a pleasure for me to contribute a different view to this important subject. An empathetic and present leader is essential during any critical phase of an organization. However, what is often underestimated in making restructuring efforts successful and activation tangible is the need to achieve voluntary fellowship from the team. In my presentation, I shared insights from the lessons and experiences I have gathered while navigating numerous restructuring projects across different industries and challenging periods. My key takeaways are: ➡️ There is always a way forward. ➡️ Team members are open to change and progress when they understand the change agenda as an effort that will make their (business) lives more secure and successful again.
