In a notable advancement for Noida's development, Dassault Aviation's MRO facility is set to be established near the upcoming Jewar International Airport. This initiative marks a significant boost for India's Make-in-India campaign, as the French aerospace giant, Dassault Aviation SA, secures land for setting up a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility for Mirage 2000 and Rafale fighters. The French government, under President Emmanuel Macron, along with Dassault, has proposed to manufacture Rafale jets with components sourced locally within India. With India's existing base maintenance depots, repair facilities, and simulators already in place, the country's defense infrastructure is poised to support this expansion. This strategic development not only bolsters India's defense capabilities but also paves the way for export opportunities, further solidifying the robust ties between India and France. #noida #anothemilestone

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁-𝗚𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 The Cabinet Committee on Security has given the green light for the development of the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), marking a significant step forward in India's quest for indigenous fifth-generation fighter jets. Led by the Aeronautical Development Agency and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., this ambitious project has been allocated a substantial budget of 150 trillion rupees ($1.8 billion) to launch the AMCA through full-scale design, development, flight testing, and certification. With five prototypes in the pipeline and the maiden flight anticipated by the end of 2028, the AMCA is set to redefine India's aerial capabilities. The Indian Air Force's endorsement of seven squadrons of these stealthy fighters highlights the strategic importance of the AMCA in promoting India's defense capabilities. While series production may commence around 2035, experts like K.P Sanjeev Kumar emphasize the need for a realistic timeline, suggesting final operational clearance may not be achieved until 2040 or beyond. With the AMCA set to feature advanced technologies, including General Electric F414 engines and supersonic cruising capabilities, India's aerospace industry is poised for a transformative leap forward. As the second domestic fighter program following the Tejas, the AMCA represents a crucial milestone in India's journey towards self-reliance in defense production. Amidst geopolitical challenges and evolving security threats, the AMCA emerges as a vital asset in safeguarding India's sovereignty and national interests. Photo by Gordon Arthur / Staff
