In the (near) future a fully connected, electrified and autonomous transportation ecosystem will rely on the enhanced network capabilities of 5G. Vehicles will have access to massive amounts of real-time traffic data and constantly updated HD maps, also called digital road twins. These insights will increase the awareness of hazards and changing weather conditions. Data insights will be integrated with traffic management systems, resulting in safe, efficient and sustainable transportation of goods and people. What will the journey toward this future look like? You need to attend the webinar with Adam Schipper, CTP to learn about that.

In 2024, NextNav made significant strides in advancing our vision for a more resilient and secure Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) solution. A major milestone was our FCC rulemaking petition to reconfigure the Lower 900 MHz band. This proposal enables a terrestrial 3D PNT network to provide a critical GPS complement and backup to help solve a national security challenge, while also unleashing 15 MHz of low-band spectrum for 5G broadband. As our CEO Mariam Sorond noted: “This is a solution that prioritizes national security and public safety while freeing up spectrum for 5G — a win for Americans and the U.S. economy.” See the video bite below of Mariam discussing the key elements of NextNav’s innovative spectrum proposal as presented at Mobile World Congress 2024. We’re proud of the progress made and remain committed to collaborating with industry and regulatory partners to shape the future of resilient PNT. Learn more in our EOY blog: https://lnkd.in/eeSnGWHf

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on an exciting project, and I’m thrilled to share that it’s finally completed! This project showcases the 5G technology feature, URLLC (Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication), which ensures smooth and responsive operations. In a nutshell, an operator located anywhere in the world, connected to high-speed internet or a 5G network, can seamlessly control a remote machine (an RC car in this case) connected over the 5G network. This demonstration highlights how quickly the car responds to commands, thanks to the ultra low latency and high reliability provided by 5G network. Check out the insightful panel discussion on Non-terrestrial networks (NTN) with Kalyan Sundhar – Keysight’s VP & GM - 5G Edge To Core Products together with Lockheed Martin and Radisys. NTN are wireless communication systems that operate above the Earth’s surface and are essential for realizing seamless coverage and coverage to remote areas. Today, devices are separated into those connected to the 3GPP terrestrial network and those connected to satellite. With NTN, all mobile devices will be connected to both terrestrial and satellite networks as part of the 3GPP ecosystem. https://lnkd.in/errJ7KC7?
