At Vedam, we recently conducted a feasibility study to evaluate the performance and impact of various Energy-Saving Devices (ESDs) and their combinations. We aimed to assess the environmental benefits, regulatory compliance, and investment returns of implementing these innovative technologies. The study focused on: - Extending the vessel’s operational lifespan with proposed upgrades. - Maximizing fuel savings while improving EEXI and CII compliance. - Ensuring ESD suitability keeping the vessel's operational profile in consideration. - Strategically planning ESD placement for optimal performance. By addressing technical and operational challenges, our analysis offers a clear path to enhanced efficiency, regulatory compliance, and sustainable maritime operations. This initiative underscores Vedam’s commitment to driving green shipping solutions and contributing to the global effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The study researched operational and technical challenges to ensure the seamless integration of this transformative technology.
