Vedam brings a modern approach to engineering challenges and for the last 17 years, has successfully provided innovative solutions for 2500+ projects covering Vessel conversions, Retrofits, new design, Shipyard Support, Site inspections & Supervision. Vedam’s R&D team works in extensive collaboration with international domain experts. The team has developed a few LNG concepts along with European LNG experts and Indian LNG operators to support the Asian gas-based energy consumption demand. Vedam is among the very few design companies internationally to have designed and built gas-propelled tankers, 15 of them are successfully operating in Africa. The team has developed indigenous designs for short sea, coastal, and Inland Vessels along with Government authorities, Shipowners, and premium academic institutes. Vedam has developed a series of Dredgers – inhouse design and complete equipment package customized with locally produced equipment. Two dredgers are recently built and delivered to one of the biggest dredging companies. Vedam has been felicitated with multiple awards and have contributed in numerous conferences. Vedam team is available at all times to support with customized service offerings.

At Vedam, we recently conducted a feasibility study to evaluate the performance and impact of various Energy-Saving Devices (ESDs) and their combinations. We aimed to assess the environmental benefits, regulatory compliance, and investment returns of implementing these innovative technologies. The study focused on: - Extending the vessel’s operational lifespan with proposed upgrades. - Maximizing fuel savings while improving EEXI and CII compliance. - Ensuring ESD suitability keeping the vessel's operational profile in consideration. - Strategically planning ESD placement for optimal performance. By addressing technical and operational challenges, our analysis offers a clear path to enhanced efficiency, regulatory compliance, and sustainable maritime operations. This initiative underscores Vedam’s commitment to driving green shipping solutions and contributing to the global effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. At Vedam, we are committed to driving sustainability in the maritime industry through innovative solutions. We recently conducted a feasibility study to decarbonise a gas carrier classified in the inferior category for its Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII). We identified operational constraints by analyzing the vessel's annual fuel consumption data and proposed actionable strategies to enhance its performance. Our study also addressed technical challenges, recommending measures to improve the vessel’s Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) and CII rating. These efforts provide our client with a clear path to regulatory compliance and contribute to a greener maritime industry, reinforcing our mission to shape a sustainable future for shipping. Our team recently conducted a comprehensive feasibility study to retrofit an Onboard Carbon Capture and Storage (OCCS) system on a vessel. The study researched operational and technical challenges to ensure the seamless integration of this transformative technology. Key highlights include: - Technology Evaluation: Assessed various carbon capture methods, selecting an amine-based solution for its high carbon capture efficiency. - System Integration: Examined the placement of CCS equipment, storage tanks, and overall extent of modification in machinery, piping, and the structure as per vessel arrangement. - Structural Stability: Ensured the vessel’s structural integrity, stability, and operational safety with the modification. - Environmental Impact: Focused on reducing emissions by capturing carbon, thus enhancing the vessel's environmental performance. Key Highlights: - Analyzed dead loads, facility loads, environmental forces (wind, waves), route inclinations, dynamic loads, and load combinations during installation. - Assessed material properties to ensure durability and compliance with strength requirements. - Used SACS software to simulate load responses, identify stress concentrations, and mitigate potential failure points. - Evaluated the design and strength of module-to-structure connections for secure handling of anticipated loads. - Ensured construction and installation plans adhered to codes, standards, and regulatory guidelines without compromising safety. - High Capacity and complex modules weighing ~4500 T - Conducted pre-service and in-service analysis of the modules. - Assess local Connections using FEM analysis. Mooring is critical to maritime operations, ensuring vessels remain securely fastened to berths, jetties, or offshore structures. At Vedam, we specialize in delivering Berthing Feasibility Analyses and MEG4 Compliance Checks to uphold the highest safety and operational efficiency standards. These services align with the latest OCIMF Mooring Equipment Guidelines (MEG) Rev 4, ensuring adherence to global maritime standards.
