Should there be FAA certificated aircraft dispatchers in the part 135 side of aviation? The NTSB thinks so….. We continue to see feedback and recommendations from the National Transportation Safety Board regarding part 135 operations. The NTSB recommendations to the FAA are wide ranging but do specifically center around operational control and the recommended use of FAA certificated aircraft dispatchers. The terms flight followers, operations control specialist, flight tracker are some generic names used across part 121 supplement, part 135 and part 91/91k environments but the real key for the broader industry is that the NTSB is vocalizing what we see already in the Part 121 domestic and flag environments. When you employ the use of FAA certificated aircraft dispatchers, your arming your company with knowledge and skill that help in improving aviation safety and reduce unnecessary operational risk in your business.
