China’s domestic environmental industry rapid development led to 90% of equipment can rely on domestic manufacturing. Domestic player’s products are cost-effective as the fierce competition. Currently China environmental industry equipment only 2% exported. In the future, we expect more Chinese environmental protection products to go abroad, which may help improve the supply chain for international players. #water #supplychain #China #waste #development #equipment

The Parliament of Finland has approved a bill that prohibits the discharge of wastewater from cargo vessels into the Baltic Sea within the country’s territorial waters. Finland’s new legislation, passed in early December 2024, is set to take effect in July 2025, making the country a pioneer in curbing ship emissions in the Baltic Sea. The new law will prohibit discharges of wastewater, sulfur scrubber water, and scrubber sludge from ships into Finnish territorial waters of the Baltic Sea. This move comes as the Baltic Sea Action Group (BSAG) highlights alarming findings from a December report by Traficom. The report shows that most ships continue to release wastewater and food waste into the sea rather than into port reception facilities, underscoring the need for stricter regulations. “It is very welcome that Finland is now using legislation to curb harmful emissions from ships into the Baltic Sea,” said Ville Wahlberg, CEO of BSAG. However, Wahlberg noted that more ambitious transitional provisions would have strengthened the law even further. BSAG has previously worked to reduce ship emissions through voluntary measures, engaging shipping companies, ports, and waste management services. These efforts revealed that receiving and handling waste at ports is not only possible but also supported by stakeholders. Finland’s stance is part of a wider regional trend, as Sweden and Denmark are also considering similar bans on the discharge of sulfur scrubber water into the Baltic Sea, potentially taking effect from summer 2025. #BalticSea #MaritimeEnvironment #ShipEmissions #SustainableShipping #EnvironmentalRegulations

Protection of #forests around the world just took a giant step backwards. Today, the #EuropeanParliament bowed to pressure from the far right and voted to delay landmark deforestation regulation intended to force EU importers to demonstrate that their #supplychains for #coffee, #chocolate, #leather, #paper, #tires and #furniture do not contribute to logging. A 12-month delay not only means additional forest loss of but allows for further weakening of the law. Many countries will now be classified as “no-risk”—even where #deforestation, #degradation and illegal practices occur. By exempting certain countries from regulatory checks, the delay threatens forests and the climate. The legislation was negotiated over several years, adopted by the European Parliament in December 2022 and was due to be implemented at the end of 2024. Proponents called it a breakthrough in the global battle against forest loss.

🌍 Important EUDR Update: Extended transition period agreed The application of the EU regulation on deforestation-free supply chains (EUDR) will be postponed by 12 months. This was agreed by the EU institutions in trilogue on 03.12.2024 (source: https://lnkd.in/d9VANHeb). This still has to be officially confirmed by the EU Parliament and Commission, but is to be expected. There have been no substantive changes to the content. Thanks to Kern Citizens for Energy for another great post! Not supporting local oil is also costly to jobs, critical services, and livelihoods. There’s no excuse for claims by any California Company that they want to “partner-with” and appease state governments and climate activist NGOs, especially when such claims are made by California Oil and Gas Operators- It smacks of cowardice to support any organization that proposes to destroy them. The only effective way to “lead” the so-called energy transition is to stop it and fight to protect reliable energy from Oil and Gas. The energy transition threatens the energy that makes our quality of life possible, and may therefore be the most potent threat humanity has ever faced. Its past time to stop the net-zero foolishness! When will we get California business and industry back on track? #factsmatter #truthmatters #climatecrisis #climatechange #oilandgas #oil #myjobdependsonag #myjobdependsonoil #biden #newsom #greennewdeal #reliablepower #energytransition #fossilfuel #nuclearenergy #hydroelectric #catastrophizing #energy #climatealarmism #ipcc #spe #iadc #aapg #api #NoToNetZero #greennewdeal #trudeau #cop28 #physicsnotfeelings #rescuecalifornia
