In this generation where technology and advancements are moving at a fast pace it's high time as professionals and business owners we have to start thinking outside the box, we have to renew our minds and ways of thought. We have to learn to utilise every opportunity we get, we have to stop focusing on the problem but rather elevate a solution to the problem. Many are times we are stuck because we don't want to respond to change, especially Africa it's high time it realise the potential it has. Africa has the potential to rise and it will, because the generation it's raising is full of warrior that are ready to take it to it's full potential. But there's are lots of work to be done so we will start with one brick at a time. It's high time we stop using social media for just fun and post but rather see the potential it can carry Africa to the next level of generation wealth.

I had the privilege of attending the Interactive Dialogue on Building a Sustainable Africa, where I had the opportunity to listen to His Excellency, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. The event, held at Access Towers, provided a unique platform for stakeholders to converge and discuss the future of our continent. His Excellency shared invaluable insights on the strategic steps necessary to build a sustainable future for Africa, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees (physical and virtual). The experience was truly enriching, informative, and interactive, offering a unique perspective on Africa's sustainable development. Then H.E. was asked a question: Question: If you could visit a market in Nigeria, what would you buy? Listen to his response.

If the GNU is serious about getting the economy growing and improving the quality of life of all South Africans, it must address the infrastructure problems. If we succeed in rehabilitating our infrastructure networks the entire country will shift on to a higher growth track, with incalculable benefits for the people of South Africa and the broader region. I fully support you Femi Adewole Especially on a day where Mozambican Zitamar News reports “Five years on, efforts to rebuild housing in Sofala province (including Beira), where Cyclone Idai struck in 2019, have so far achieved little.” Much much more needs to be done indeed! - lets agree that Western-styled mortgage products do not work for the masses in Africa that earn informally and unpredictably - lets agree that there is not 1 silver bullet solution that will fix this situation fast and at scale. A menu of options is needed so that those that need better housing can choose what option that fits them best. That housing menu should include at least: * rental housing options as Olu Olanrewaju says, especially schemes for student housing and those facilitating increased labour mobility that have a solid business case. Social housing for those with lower incomes will depend on political appetite * schemes that upgrade/formalise/scale backyard rental, currently the biggest supplier of housing in most of Africa * and obviously flexible payment offtake schemes (like rent to own) for affordable housing developers so the whole value chain for developers can finally work. Very scalable, especially with the tech we offer at Empowa
About 14years ago, i decided to go back to Africa in pursuit of a vision. A vision of Africa where its most vulnerable had at least a modest roof over their head. Over those many years, a lot has been done. Tens of thousands of houses built accross the Continent including about 14000 homes in the last four years in Nigeria alone. But this video - sadly still the experience of far too many (probably up to 20million Nigerians) say it all. Much more, bloody much more, needs to be done. Its simply too heartbreaking. Unfortunately, much of our conversations and conferences ignore a reality for too many of fellow citizens. So over the next weeks and months, with absolutely no shame, I will be plugging everyone I can think of, to mobilise voluntary effort to help as many as we can. I'm coming! If you have any ideas, that's welcome too. How about weatherproofing 1000 homes in our informal settlements by December for a start!
