I continue to see work as so much more than a job. When we observe how people work, we recognize there are endless work styles, motivations, preferences, structures, management, and behaviors. And when analyzing CAREERS there's added complexity, each unique to the individual. It is often overwhelming (and packed with pressures) to navigate our careers. I am constantly seeking to understand my trajectory and the aims that will bring the most satisfaction out of my career. My first profession was full of consternation over not feeling "ready" for the next role. A 2LT commissionee (straight from college) is placed in a role of immense responsibility with zero experience to supplement it. Placed in a position of influence over people with decades more experience in the field- it challenged me to appreciate that everyone has to start somewhere- even the colonel and the general. They have to start with a confidence in those around them to build them up and teach them and show them what REAL progress is as a professional and a leader. The people that are making the most impact are those that are less concerned with their future trajectories (to include myself) and those who are willing to walk patiently with people at earlier stages in the process.
Thank you Margaret Bellinder, BS, MS for your beautiful testimonial about our program! As we remember our fallen heroes this Memorial Day, let's also support those transitioning to civilian life. Honoring today as #VeteransDay (November 11, 2024), Good Works Grant Writing is proud to highlight our #GoodWorksClient — Soldier's Best Friend! Soldier’s Best Friend's mission is to provide U.S. military veterans living with combat-related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with Service or Therapeutic Companion Dogs, most of which are rescued from local shelters. The veteran and dog train together to build a trusting relationship that touches two lives at once and inspires countless others. For many veterans, the transition from military to civilian life brings new challenges, and the companionship of a service dog can be a true lifeline. Each veteran-dog team is a testament to resilience, compassion, and the power of healing together. Working with Soldier’s Best Friend to secure funding means every dollar raised goes toward allowing these life-changing partnerships to flourish. Today, we celebrate our veterans, thank them for their service, and reaffirm our commitment to supporting the work of Soldier’s Best Friend. Together, we’re making strides in providing veterans the support they need to lead fulfilling lives. Learn more about Soldier's Best Friend at https://lnkd.in/gfrbDztd. Hello Friends, Fellow Veterans, and Business Associates, This is the reason why it's so challenging for legitimate veteran non-profits to get funded and carry on with their important missions to actually help veterans with their needs. We must identify the ones who are actually doing the great work and support them 100%. Conversely, those organizations that are hoodwinking their supporters and doing something else with the donations than legitimately helping veterans must be identified and put out of business. The lack of consequences is why this continues to happen. We must. #veteransupport #veterannonprofit #supportveterans

Healing Through Creation: Bladesmithing for Veterans in Duluth 🇺🇸 At 23rd Veteran, we know every hero's battle is unique. That's why we offer more than just one path to healing. Our Bladesmithing Program provides a 5-week outlet for veterans who find solace in creation. This program is only on Sundays and is ideal for those who can't commit to a full Recon program or prefer a different approach to healing. The need is great. We have a waitlist and limited funding to expand the program beyond its current 8 participants. With 3.3 million veterans struggling since 9/11, programs like this are vital. Your donation can make a difference. Help us provide more paths to healing for our veterans. Donate today and be a hero to a hero. Today is the day! Your final chance to make a lasting impact during San Diego Gives. But today is not just any day—it's also the International Day of Charity, a global call to action, and September marks Suicide Awareness Month, a time to stand united in support of mental health and suicide prevention. Your support has never been more crucial. As we navigate these final hours, we need your help to lift up our local veteran and military community. These brave men and women have given so much, and now it's our turn to give back. Why Your Support Matters: Impact: Your donations are the lifeline that allows us to deliver essential career coaching, mentoring, and training to veterans and their families. Every dollar you contribute directly reduces unemployment, prevents veteran suicides, and empowers military spouses to find meaningful civilian careers. Your support is not just a donation; it's a life-changing investment in our heroes' futures. Community: Together, we are a force for good. By joining hands, we’re making San Diego a better place for those who have sacrificed so much for our country. How You Can Help: Donate to VETS - Beyond The Uniform (https://lnkd.in/gBme582Y): Even the smallest contribution can make a world of difference. Your generosity today can change lives—please consider donating now. Share: Spread the word by sharing our campaign with #SanDiegoGives. Let your community know that supporting our active duty, veterans, and military spouses is a cause worth championing. This is the moment to make a difference. Your support today will help veterans and their families gain the resources they need to thrive in civilian life. Let’s honor their service by standing with them now. Thank you for being a part of this important mission! VETS - Beyond The Uniform If you're undecided on where to donate, consider supporting the "Love Them All Fund," which benefits multiple local nonprofits. #SanDiegoGives #DayOfGiving #CollectiveImpact #SupportOurVeterans #MilitaryFamilies #SanDiego #VeteranSupport #Empowerment #Community #MissionDriven #CommunitySupport #Donate
