See Vianova’s new Elements Feature in Action 🌐 The Elements feature, available on the Vianova Intelligence Platform (VIP), incorporates nearly 50 types of urban assets—like schools, bike lanes, and parks—into your mobility data analysis. 🏥 Using Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh as an example, the feature allows cities to create custom zones around key landmarks to analyze how pedestrians and transit users access the area. 🚗 This approach can highlight potential safety concerns, like those on Bond Boulevard, where traffic interventions could protect vulnerable road users. 🚗 Enhancing Road Safety with Vianova: Analyzing Massachusetts Crash Data Our latest blog by Zofia C. focuses on uncovering critical road safety insights in Massachusetts through a detailed analysis of MassDOT’s Crash Data Portal. Through this initiative, the Vianova Intelligence Platform (VIP) was able to successfully extract data from various parts of the government into one unified platform, breaking down previously siloed information. In this analysis, Vianova also identified nuances in the data about the disparate impacts on underserved populations, enabling policymakers to better target interventions with an eye toward equity. Discover the full results in our blog below! ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e__qGZU3 #RoadSafety #Mobility #Transportation #BigData #Massachusetts

Thanks for the great webinar Kay! and of course to the other panelist and the great audience. Below you can find my take aways from the webinar and the questions that poped up. 🚁 While people often talk about drones and eVTOL in the same context, we need to be clear that from a regulatory and operational perspective, the issues are quite different in terms of what rules apply to each and what the implications are for early operations. While for drones we can see with our partners and customers an increasing level of automation in their flight operations, even some one-to-many operations, for eVTOL we will start conventionally with a pilot on board flying according to VFR rules - here autonomy, or to be more precise, automated operations, are still a bit further down the road. 🌬️ People often ask about micro-weather in urban canyons and things like that. First of all, if you look at the regulations for approach and departure paths for vertiports and how eVTOLs will be operated, they will not be flying between tall buildings at low altitude in cities. So this is not the most critical issue to solve as long as pilots are still on board to operate the vehicle. To cover weather effects at the micro level, Vertiport operators will use weather sensors to provide real-time data to the pilot, but these sensors will be at the lower end of what is available on the market for at least two reasons. First, we only have some basic rules for VFR vertiports, it is unclear what IFR vertiports will look like and what weather systems will be required, so there is a higher risk of sunk costs that the operator wants to avoid. Second, while lidars or other advanced sensors are interesting from an engineering perspective, it is still completely unclear how pilots will consume this data and they cannot be overloaded with information in the typical rather short flights. I am convinced that there is still a lot of educational work to be done in this area and that the operators' point of view is missing in many discussions. At Unisphere GmbH, we do not have our own operations, but we are fortunate to work with many of the leading operators in a variety of innovative aviation projects, combined with our strong background from the Solar Impulse flight around the world, we are pushing this issue as much as possible.
One week ago, our Chief Commercial Officer Dr. Christoph Selig participated together with Rasha Alshami from LYNEports and Jose Ignacio Rodriguez from Bluenest by Globalvia in a webinar on #vertiport, organized by Kay Wackwitz from Drone Industry Insights. The recording is now available for all who were not able to join the live version of it. It is great having such formats where different perspective on such novel topics can be shared and discusses. We were pleased by the great interaction with the audience and the variety of questions that show that there is still much ambuguity but even a greater amount of interest in #AAM and making it a reality in the next years. Thank you all for the great webinar and we wish you a nice Christmas time. In case you have a few minutes left, you can have a look here at the webinar: https://lnkd.in/ecM8xJdh
