Controversial Take: 🏊♂️ Michael Phelps may not be the greatest swimmer in the world. Why, you ask? It’s straightforward: he swims in a realm accessible only to a select few. 🥶 Key Insight: This perspective applies to identifying top talent as well. You don't need to limit your search to graduates from elite institutions—access plays a significant role. So, how can you uncover exceptional talent beyond what’s written on a resume? I recommend checking out Joe Fernandez and allUP!! 👉 https://www.allup.world/ #sorryBobBowman AI is now decentralizing the information wars! #powertothepeople

📢 PSA: You are NOT starting from scratch! As someone who has had a squiggly career path (Law -> HR -> Consulting -> Higher Education), I resonate with the fear of 'starting from scratch' when embarking on a new role. I totally get it, it can be daunting to feel like a beginner again, especially if you are in the mid-career stage. But what I've learned over the years is that a growth mindset and some mental reframes can take you far. Some reframes I've personally found helpful: 🧠 "I'm bad at this" -> "It takes time to get good at something." 🧠 "It's scary to be a beginner again" -> "I have transferable skills I can leverage & it's exciting that I get to expand my career toolkit." 🧠 "I should be at this title/position at this stage of life" -> "We're all running our own race, and my journey is uniquely mine." I still don’t have all the answers #workinprogress, but I hope this short video encourages someone who’s on the journey of figuring out their path! Big thanks to the Mosaic team from Taylor's University for inviting Sarah-Ann Yong and I to share our thoughts on our career pivots, the existential question of Passion vs Purpose and our definition of ‘career success’. I’d love to hear from you! What are some reframes that you have found helpful in your career journey? Let me know your thoughts in the comments :) #careerpivot #careerdevelopment #growthmindset
