Today is Human Rights Day, which commemorates the anniversary of one of the world's most groundbreaking global pledges– the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It also marks the end of 16 days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Throughout this campaign, we highlighted the impact of gender-based violence and stressed the urgent need for change. Every human being, regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, or origin, deserves the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—and that includes the right to live without violence. Let’s continue to speak out, take action, and work towards a world where safety, respect, and equality are a reality for everyone. #HumanRightsDay #StandUpForHumanRights #StopHateSpeech

It’s Human Rights Day! If you know anything about our work, you know that we love human rights, and we’ve made it our mission to defend them! 🗓️ On December 10 each year, we recognize the inalienable rights everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth, or other status, as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)! Some of the ways we recognize human rights all year: 🌟 Human Rights Commissions, which investigate, promote, and protect human rights! 🌟 Censorship Series, which brings together free speech experts and activists discussing the threats of censorship to human rights and democracy. 🌟 Fighting unjust laws in the courts, including FOSTA and Age Verification laws, which infringe on people’s right to privacy and freedom of expression 🌟 Fact Checked by Woodhull, which addresses pressing issues related to sexual freedom to ensure the public has accurate and rigorously researched information so they can effectively participate in defending and protecting human rights for all. 🌟 Spokes Hub Virtual Peer Learning Academ,y where people involved in the sex trades can share critical knowledge and expertise. 🌟 Policy Position Statements, where we provide our analysis and position on critical policies related to sexual freedom and human rights being considered by lawmakers. Support our work on this important day by making a gift to Woodhull in honor of Human Rights Day ▶️ https://lnkd.in/eJCMRGBe Remember, all donations made before 12/31 are matched up to $15,000, thanks to a generous donor!

We are all born equal in dignity and rights." – Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Today, we celebrate International Human Rights Day, marking the end of the global campaign on violence against women and girls, including sex workers and other marginalized individuals who often face intersecting forms of discrimination. The theme "Our rights, our future, right now" serves as a strong reminder that, amidst rising conflicts, social inequalities, and environmental crises worldwide, individuals and states must reaffirm the universality of human rights. Let us embody values of equality, freedom, and dignity that unite us all and build a global community where justice and fairness are abounding, regardless of one’s background, identity, or profession. #HumanRightsDay2024 #16DaysOfActivism2024

Today, on Human Rights Day and the conclusion of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), we reflect on the enduring significance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights—a powerful commitment to dignity and equality for all. Despite progress, too many still face barriers to basic rights because of their gender, race, religion, and other factors. GBV remains a pervasive violation of human rights, impacting lives worldwide. This year’s theme, Come Together, Act Now, is a call to action for all of us. Combating GBV requires collective effort, courage to challenge injustices, and a shared commitment to building a future where everyone can live free from violence and inequality. #16Days #HumanRightsDay

On International Human Rights Day, we reaffirm the rights of all individuals, including those who are intersex. It's time to recognize and protect the dignity, autonomy, and equality of intersex people worldwide, who have long faced discrimination, invisibility, and harmful medical practices. Every person, regardless of their sex characteristics, deserves the right to live without coercion, violence, or stigma. Today, let us stand in solidarity with the intersex community, advocating for their right to self-determination, bodily integrity, and a life free from harm. Together, we can create a world where everyone’s human rights are respected and celebrated. #HumanRights #IntersexRights #DignityForAll
