We, the founders of Ghumau Kya, will soon visit a place that excites us and provides precisely what a travel consultant desires: exposure. However, if you're assuming that I might be thrilled about a vacation as a travel consultant, you are mistaken. The place that has us buzzing with excitement is none other than the ATM—not the cash-dispensing machine, but the Arabian Travel Market. It's the premier B2B travel exhibition drawing industry professionals from around the globe. This event opens up endless possibilities for individuals to connect over their shared passion for travel and aid each other in exploring the world more profoundly. It's a platform where leisure seamlessly merges with business, MICE, and luxury travel, attracting global leaders who come to experience the future firsthand. The ATM is scheduled to take place from May 6th to May 11th in Dubai, a city that, in itself, is a haven for travelers enamored with man-made beauty! If you're part of the travel industry, then this exhibition is a must-visit. It not only provides opportunities to connect with industry experts but also opens up endless possibilities of the world. #ATMDubai #ATM #ArabianTravelMarket

Day 1 at the Arabian Travel Market! In this 31st edition of ATM 2,300 exhibitors from 165 countries are featured, with 41,000 visitors expected to attend. It felt (slightly) bigger than last year, with large (and better managed!) crowds of people, but also an impressive density of high quality professionals. Once again, Saudi probably has the largest stand, as it includes different regions of the country and features its giga-projects. Both Dubai and Abu Dhabi also seemed to have increased the size of their respective stands. Lots of interesting announcements, some entirely new, like the 5.2M visitors Dubai received in Q1 2024, marking an 11% increase year-on-year, or some resurfacing news, like Abu Dhabi's tourism strategy with intentions to grow to 39M visitors annually by 2030 or the GCC Grand Tour, a unified tourism visa for GCC residents that will make traveling the GCC more convenient and affordable. As I interacted with fellow industry professionals and listened to some of the seminars in either the Global Stage or the Future Stage I noticed an unwavering optimism for the longer term of the region, even if there are some clouds in the short term due to perceived risks with significant downward potential. The general sentiment was certainly still positive. Looking forward to see what Day 2 brings! #arabiantravelmarket #atm #mydubai #tourism #sauditourism #dct

From my experience as an expat in Dubai : For ages, the abra has been a big part of Dubai's story, linking the old days to the modern era. Originally, these traditional wooden boats were used by locals and traders to cross Dubai Creek, connecting areas like Deira and Bur Dubai.Even as Dubai grew into a flashy city with tall buildings, the abra stuck around. It still ferries people across the creek, giving a glimpse of the past amid all the changes. Despite fancy new ways to get around, the abra remains popular, especially because it's so cheap – just 1 AED for a ride. It's not just a ride; it's a chance to experience Dubai's culture and history. Dubai knows how special the abra is, so they use it to attract tourists. They promote it as a symbol of tradition and authenticity, encouraging visitors to hop on board and enjoy the views. My key learnings and perception : The abra shows that Dubai values its roots while moving forward. By keeping this tradition alive, Dubai celebrates where it came from while embracing its future. So, when you ride the abra in Dubai, you're not just crossing a creek – you're traveling through time, connecting with the city's past and present in a unique way. Have you taken an Abra ride yet? If not, it’s a must visit ! I used to often spend my Saturdays just taking a ride to & fro to feel the calmness of the water and embrace Emirati culture. #heritage #tourism #visitdubai #dubai #dubaiexpats

Dubai and Abu Dhabi are starting to lose this race as KSA, with its larger geographical size and richer cultural-historical background for leisure tourism, along with its wealth and newfound obsession to finally claim the title of the Middle East’s hub from Dubai, gains momentum. It’s fascinating to observe the competitive race between the Emirates, where I relocated a couple of years ago, and Saudi Arabia, which boasts twice the GDP and an even greater desire to win the race for tourists and expatriates. According to Expat Insider, in 2024, Saudi Arabia became the second-best country in the world for expatriates, surpassing the USA, UK, and Belgium, trailing only Denmark. In the similar ranking for 2023, the kingdom was in 14th place. I will continue to advocate for Dubai to adopt a more successful strategy by shifting efforts from leisure tourism to attracting business tourism through the stimulation and increase of large-scale business exhibitions, like our The Leads Arenas, for instance
