Demonstrating federation of the International Patient Summary (IPS), and creating innovative patient centric solutions underpinned by technology from our industry partners CaboLabs: experts in Health Informatics, Standards and Interoperability, CODE24, vitagroup and Better; plus cloud hosting support and #FHIR capabilities from Amazon Web Services (AWS), this high-energy event is all about merging rapid innovation with collaboration, compliance and problem-solving. Taking place over 24 hours, participating teams will prototype groundbreaking solutions to address a major healthcare challenge demonstrating the use of SMART on openEHR. The event is free to join, from anywhere in the world, as participants from across the globe will come together as virtual collaborative teams, in a setting designed to encourage learning, creativity, innovation and shared problem-solving. With access to top-tier mentorship, extensive resources and state of the art tools, teams will work to develop solutions that demonstrate practical implementations of the International Patient Summary for real world use cases. As part of the openEHR International Conference in November, We'll be running the the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 - an exciting two-day hybrid event focused on advancing healthcare innovation through openEHR standards. Once the clock starts ticking at 12:00 midday on 5 November, participating teams will have just 24 hours to create an International Patient Summary-based solution using a Clinical Data Repository provided for the event by CaboLabs: experts in Health Informatics, Standards and Interoperability, CODE24, vitagroup or Better. Teams of one to three participants will battle it out to find the best solutions to real-world healthcare challenges, using a patient-centred perspective to foster rapid prototyping and creativity. To prepare teams for the Collabrathon, we’ll be holding a webinar during the week of 21 October, which will be recorded for anyone unable to attend live. During this session, you can find out more about the rules and parameters of the event, and familiarise yourself with the toolkit available to support problem-solving, which includes expert mentorship and cutting-edge resources. Of course, you will be competing for both individual and group prizes, with the winning solutions set to showcase the value of interoperability and openEHR standards in health data management. This week has been a whirlwind of insightful conversations and networking at two great events - DigiGov on Tuesday and HETT (Healthcare Excellence Through Technology) on Wednesday. I had the pleasure of connecting with many existing contacts and making some great new ones. What stood out was how many of the challenges discussed are shared. From legacy technology (and the often-limited understanding of what's happening under the hood) to the complexity of data interoperability (the NHS manage 1,900 separate data flows!), it’s clear that these are widespread issues. The golden thread that strongly linked the two events was data. Fixing the fundamental data structure and developing a robust data strategy to support transformation, AI adoption, and digitisation was the loudest message. Without a solid data foundation, widespread innovation will simply not progress at the speed that is necessary. 5 major predictions on SaaStr 2024  — And why I can bet this year’s meetup will be a blast: (Attending? Let’s meet up — just shoot me a DM) → Inclusivity lessons for healthcare. SaaStr is stepping it up with 1,500 inclusion passes. They’re even throwing in free mentorship for minorities. That’s super cool if you ask me — and there’s even more: The minorities get early access and other handy perks. Healthcare, take note! → AI takes up more space than before. AI sessions are up by at least 5% compared to 2023. And guess what?  The whole SaaStr AI Summit track is in full swing. A clear message for those who called AI just hype — it’s time to rethink that: AI is seriously redefining the business world right as we speak. And as for AI enthusiasts — I’m sure SAASTR will have a lot to offer. →  Compliance/security are getting a spotlight. Personally, I find there’s never enough focus on this. Especially when it comes to healthcare data. Here’s some perspective: 341 breaches reported in healthcare in 2024. Plus, Kaiser Permanente alone affected 13m patients. Let’s face it, new approaches are a must here. →  Ideal space for strategic partnerships. 73% of businesses at SaaStr are mid-market or enterprise. 40% of SaaStr attendees report at least $10M ARR. And 34% of SaaStr visitors are CEOs. Topped up with plenty of networking spaces,  I predict many collabs will be born this year there. So, have a solid plan on what you can bring to the table. →  Questionable suitability for investor hunt. Investors make up 8% of attendees here.
