Empowering Women Leaders to Break Boundaries!   Korcomptenz had an empowering event, focusing on how to become a Fearless Leader, as we launched our Women Executive Leadership Program. Our day seemed running fast with, Malaimagal MV, Director of Vital Square, teaching us practical tips on how to harness Emotional Intelligence. Five days off with my kids was everything I needed. Slow mornings without the rush of packing lunches or dashing out the door were pure bliss. We soaked up extra cuddles, shared laughs, and made space for so much fun. Not to mention the much-needed rest as I focus on growing our third little one—halfway there! Balancing motherhood and a career is no small feat. Some mothers work because they’re passionate about their careers, others out of necessity to provide for their families. Some stay home because of rising childcare costs, and others make the intentional choice to focus on raising their children full-time—a demanding and rewarding job in its own right. Every path is valid and comes with its own unique challenges and joys. Having both roles can feel overwhelming at times. How do we navigate these conversations at work? Is it okay to admit that I miss my kids while still loving my job? It takes intentionality. This course feels like a breath of fresh air. My hope is that as more organizations introduce it to their teams, it creates a safe space to have these honest, important conversations and to support women in all their choices.

So many deadly speakers at the First Nations Women in Leadership Summit here in Meanjin. Almost every speaker referenced all the different women who paved the way for them to step into leadership roles - we're in this together. I think my favourite advice from Prof Marcia Langton was simple: "leadership is simply being yourself - making decisions that are good for others - and doing the best that you can." If all leaders followed those simple rules I think we'd see more authenticity, transparency, powerful vulnerability, and true, deep listening.

True Leaders practice Who + How: less utilitarian transaction and more human interactions. Thank you Virginie Fernandez for bringing this important subject and for gifting us with this rare opportunity to hear such a candid story on the complex decisions that a female leader still has to take. I would like to reinforce what you mentioned - influence doesn't always come with a title. And add that in addition to WHO you know, HOW you treat who you know makes a difference in our journey as leaders. Do we choose and connect with people only when their title and position can give us an immediate benefit (Adam Grant's Givers and Takers) or do we choose to see the human being that we are interacting with and the interdependent relationship that we are building? True leaders don’t drop who they know when who they know loses their title or chooses to take their title off.
