Took advantage of 11 NOV for Armistice Day in Paris to visit the Fondation Louis Vuitton’s Pop Art exhibit – very impressive, and I strongly recommend it! 🌈 So much color, creativity, and… business inspiration !! Seeing all the bold masterpieces from these artists reminded me of what business needs now more than ever: a splash of fearless innovation and a good dose of humor. 💋 It took me right back to when I visited the MoMA in New York and the Art Institute in Chicago during business trips– some perfect moments to reflect after intense business meetings… 💡 Imagine if you approach your next big project like a Pop Art masterpiece: -Be Bold: the artist didn’t think twice about painting soup cans. Let’s not be afraid of fresh ideas, even if they seem… unconventional. - Be Accessible: Pop Art made art accessible. How can our products/services connect better with our customers’ daily lives? - Be different : Don’t just copy/paste. Every objects were transformed into something extraordinary. In business, let’s aim to create something memorable, not just follow what’s already out there. Who knows? Maybe your next strategy/commercial meeting should have more color, less jargon, and a little avant-garde energy. I spent a lovely afternoon yesterday looking at furry rockets, giant glittery mushrooms and shot Chanel handbags. It's not what I usually do on Tuesday afternoons, but I had signed up for the Kunsthal Rotterdam's "art buddies" initiative, where they match you with someone you've never met to look at art together. Five wonderful things happened: => I made a new friend => We had wildly different reactions to the art (me: please, no gold! her: give me gold! give me glitter! give me neon! this is the best!!!) => I got to look at things through her eyes => I got to verbalise my own experience and explain it to someone with a different background => We found a lot of common ground It got me out of my bubble in a very gentle, non-polarising, dare I say 'glittery' way. And I wish much more of this for all of us. Go play with someone you've never met before. If you work for a large organization, you can even make this a regular activity. And if not: there's parks, museums, cafe's, train stations - so many places to play. Arrange for a date with someone you don't yet know this month, and get out of your bubble. "The substantial cost for designers, artists and art centres to attend fashion events is well documented, with 2024 seeing these expenses only increase. Because of these travel, transfer and accommodation costs, it is becoming increasingly common for designers, artists and art centres to showcase and present their works at events without physically attending.
