Reflections on a Game-Changing day in Gothenburg ✨ This past Monday, I had the pleasure of representing SASHA - Safe Share at Nordref's Game Changer Conference. Being invited to speak about our work was a true honor, especially alongside such insightful and experienced individuals. Key discussions included: - The underlying factors driving online abuse and gender-based violence - Profiling online perpetrators: Who are they? What drives their behavior? - Gamification as a tool to guide youth toward safer digital habits - If children ruled the internet: respect, safety, and accountability take center stage 🌟 What made this day even more special was how it brought things full circle for me. Just 1.5 years ago, I met Thordis Elva for the first time, presenting what was merely a good idea and proof of concept. What stuck with me was her genuine interest and investment in our vision. It’s thanks to believers like her that we've come this far—not just in advancing our technology, but in pushing toward a safer, more inclusive internet for all. I felt incredibly privileged to share the technical progress we've made. It's so easy to lose sight of milestones when being in our small startup bubble always focusing on ‘what’s next’. Women in tech, especially, face unique challenges, often feeling hesitant to believe in themselves and their abilities or grow in environments where they're not fully valued. As I’m attending Viva Tech 2024, something surprising caught my eye. I captured a striking moment that speaks volumes about the current state of our industry. I never thought about this, but the image spoke for itself. 👀 In the video, you can see a large group of men exiting a conference venue, followed by a mob of women eagerly waiting to enter for a session specifically focused on Femtech. 📉 What This Reveals: It’s apparent that men often overlook sessions dedicated to women (in tech), missing out on critical conversations about diversity and inclusion. This highlights a significant gap in our collective understanding and engagement. 🌐 Why This Matters: Tech is an ever-evolving field that thrives on innovation and diverse perspectives. When men disengage from discussions about women, we lose out on valuable insights and solutions that benefit the entire industry and make it more difficult to reduce biases and promote inclusion. 🔗 Bridging the Gap: To create a truly inclusive and innovative tech industry, we need to integrate men and women into all conversations.
