This holiday season we are reaching out to request your support for vital community and conservation projects in Uganda and Rwanda. Our partnership with Empowers Africa as our fiscal sponsor provides a simple way for contributions from US residents to be tax-deductible. We are seeking to raise funds for the following projects; Give $500 to support a trainee wildlife guide at Kibale Lodge with binoculars and guidebooks. For $2,500 you can sponsor three young trainees for a three-month hospitality program at Bwindi Bar. Contribute $5,000 the new Virunga Lodge Community Centre and be recognised as a benefactor. $10,000 will support the Kyambura Lion Monitoring Team during their annual carnivore census for three months in Queen Elizabeth National Park. A donation of $18,000 per year will support the Gahinga Batwa children’s school fees, including a hot meal, adult schooling, a food donation and weekly visits by doctors and health workers. We need your support for these vital community projects around our lodges and to support conservation of gorillas and chimpanzees. Please give generously! Follow the link below to donate. Really worth having a watch to see how you could donate to a really good cause in #victoriafalls Welcome to EleCREW, a non-profit organization dedicated to elephant conservation in Victoria Falls, at the heart of the KAZA region, home to over 50% of Africa’s remaining wild elephants. Through our Ambassador herd and Community Cooperation and Conflict mitigation programs, EleCREW is passionately committed to fostering human-elephant coexistence. Within the National Parks, elephants have the right of way, facing primary threats such as illegal poaching and food and water scarcity, particularly during droughts, which are a regular occurrence in the Zimbabwean ecosystem. In this context, distinguishing between allies and adversaries is straightforward. However, outside of the Parks, the moral lines become less clear. Elephants often venture into rural and urban areas in search of food, which is frequently scarce within the National Park boundaries, especially during the dry season. This can lead to conflicts between the resident human population and the elephants, sometimes resulting in fatal consequences for either party, though more frequently for the elephants. This is the conservation space that EleCREW occupies—our programs aim to minimize conflict and promote coexistence with rural and urban elephant populations, encapsulated by the phrase “Living with Elephants”. EleCREW is a non-profit institution entirely dependent on generous donations from individuals and corporations who wish to contribute to ensuring elephants survive the threat of extinction and remain a source of joy for future generations. Please help by liking and sharing this post. If you can help by a small donation every little really does count. Together with a team of volunteers, we are raising money for this vital project in Zimbabwe. Join us as we walk the length and breadth of Wales to help raise funds. Myself and a good friend Jon Green and my English Springer Spaniel Bandit #banditthebombdog will be continuing our walk from July 19th-22nd 2024. Carrying our own gear and camping out under the star's. On this occasion we are planning on covering 40 miles along the Pembrokeshire Coastal path. One of Wales most beautiful coastlines. A message from Zimbabwe: "Water is life - and life comes from Water. Funds are being raised to help establish a water supply in a part of Zimbabwe called Mahamara which is located in the Sebakwe wilderness area and neighbours the Sebakwe Recreational Park. Mahamara is a prime wildlife habitat that once teemed with zebra, warthog, impala, kudu, wildebeest, tsessebe, giraffe, sable and eland amongst other species including migratory elephant, leopard and cheetah. The area is also home to the brown hyena which is a unique and uncommon species. As a result of illegal poaching and compounded by weather change patterns bringing irregular rains and lack of water, the wildlife has dissipated but all is not lost and there is always hope and opportunity to restore and make a positive difference which is what Mahamara is all about. To exist and thrive, wildlife requires 3 key ingredients being HABITAT SECURITY WATER. The habitat is in place at Mahamara and a current ongoing long term project to provide security and prevent poaching is a work in progress and which is showing positive results after 4 years of concerted effort. In addition to the three key ingredients, conservation awareness and participation for local communities is also a major part of the programme, but it will take more than habitat , security and conservation awareness to bring the animals back. WATER is needed as the third key ingredient. . When vital water is supplied then life can exist and also plants and vegetation abound and the remnant animals will return to occupy the habitat to feed and drink and to feel safe in this habitat, which has the required anti poaching protection and security. The animals will then naturally breed and multiply and in short time the ecosystem and area will thrive once more. A series of water supply works are planned, including bore holes, solar pumps, pipelines and reestablishment of old watering holes and points that will cause the wildlife to proliferate. When wildlife succeeds in an area such as Mahamara ,then the community will also thrive because the habitat and land use is being adjusted and restored to include how nature designed it to be and where value can be derived. This is your opportunity to play a vital role in this water rehabilitation task, please use the link below to donate.

The Black Rhinoceros, a critically endangered species, finds sanctuary in the Eastern Salient of the Aberdare National Park, covering an expanse of 120 km², where it boasts the highest population within the park. Historically, poaching posed the most significant threat to this population. However, a dedicated team of rangers now patrols the Eastern Salient, ensuring the protection of the remaining Black Rhinos from poaching threats. Consequently, incidents of poaching have significantly decreased. Vital to this effort is the collection of intelligence to preempt threats to the Black Rhinos, alongside daily desnaring operations aimed at safeguarding them. Rhino Ark UK, the sister charity of Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust, collaborates closely with local operators to support ongoing conservation efforts in East Africa. Through partnerships with the Kenyan team, we facilitate grant applications, organize fundraising events, and advocate for the cause in the United Kingdom. We also manage donations for local teams participating in the annual off-road competition, Rhino Charge, with proceeds directed towards supporting #BlackRhinoConservation efforts. ➡️ Learn More 🔗 www.rhinoark.org #RhinoConservation #SupportRhinoArk #RhinoArk #BlackRhino

I have a son and a daughter, both members of generation Z. When they were younger, my wife and I would give them an allowance. We made them split their allowance into three buckets: savings, spending and charity. Savings they got back when they turned 18, spending can be used as they desired and charity got donated to the nonprofit of their choice. My kids normally saved up their charity dollars all year and made an end-of-the-year gift. Their gifts, and our experience in making those gifts online, inspired me to write this blog article. Here are three lessons all nonprofits can learn from the youngest generation of givers:. https://buff.ly/4aY5tPk #donations #nonprofit #donation #fundraising #charity #nonprofitorganization #nonprofits #notforprofit #support #socialgood #donorlove

Tawaki / Fiordland Crested Penguins are endemic to Aotearoa and are the only crested penguin to breed on mainland New Zealand, from Bruce bay to Stewart Island. They are one the rarest and least studied penguins in the world. In David Attenborough’s words “It’s shy and mysterious. The jungle penguin” this makes nests incredibly hard to find and monitor which is why we know so little about these birds. We have already had an incredible private donor contribute $24,000 to complete Stage 1 in 2024 and get this project off the ground. Following this initial contribution we are looking for another $26,000 to complete Stage 2 in 2025 then $15,000 per year for 5 years to continue monitoring population trends in Fiordland. The purpose of raising these funds is to achieve population monitoring of Tawaki across their breeding range at three Fiordland sites. Find out more https://lnkd.in/gwXrG_3A
How much does it cost to monitor and track the population of the Tawaki / Fiordland Crested Penguin over five years? $110,000. Over five years. This is the only way we will know how the Tawaki are responding to changing ocean conditions. We fear that the population is declining, but without data, we just don't know. And without knowledge, we can't take action. Donate if you can. Spread the word regardless. And know that one small action may help to keep a species alive. https://lnkd.in/gmkYwjpw #NZNF #protect #tawakiproject

Trout Unlimited Canada is committed to conserving, protecting, and restoring Canada's freshwater ecosystems and their coldwater resources for current and future generations. As a non-profit organization, we rely on donations to do this work. You can donate today to support Trout Unlimited Canada's efforts through our Cooling Streams program, working to restore riparian areas & mitigate climate change. A $150 donation will purchase 87 spiral guards to increase the survival rate of trees we plant, protecting them from weather damage and animal browsing that make them weaker and more vulnerable to disease. The survival of these trees help restore crucial riparian habitats and keep our streams cool and healthy. Your contribution directly supports cleaner waters and healthier ecosystems for fish and wildlife. Let's grow a better future—one tree at a time! https://lnkd.in/gnGBzyQb #NonProfit #Conserve #Protect #Restore #Donations #NationalForestWeek #NFW
