An efficient green transition requires that we analysis the needs and gaps - And that we bring people together across sectors and whole supply chain to solve these! Yesterday our Head of Department Rasmus Aabye Olsen was invited to Aarhus to present and discuss a piece of great work that our team (Carolina Escudero Concha, Lisa Calearo, Marco Saretta Søren Møller Thomsen, Henrik Wolgast etc.) has done for Business Region Aarhus. We carried out a study about if the grid in the region will be stretched due to the electrification of transport, heat and industry, as well as the rapid expansion of solar PV capacity in the area. The meeting shows how far ahead Aarhus Kommune is in getting stakeholders together in discussing these challenges and in this time people from both #EnerginetEnerginet, #Kredsloeb, #Konstant and #DinEl as well as #AarhusKommune - Klima og Energy. Only by getting the right people together can we facilitate the huge turnaround that our energy systems have to go through over the next few years. Please find the report here https://lnkd.in/d4YRWkhY. Some of the points relates to the fact that DSOs and TSOs are not allowed to invest enough upfront of all anticipated power needs. This will delay electrification and decarbonisation of our society.

Solarimo Constructs 808 kW Photovoltaic Systems in Berlin’s Havelufer Quartier Solarimo, a subsidiary of the French energy group Engie, is installing photovoltaic systems with a total capacity of 808 kilowatts in the Spandau district of Berlin. These systems, part of a project developed by Patrizia and Kauri CAB Berlin, will integrate existing installations and prominently feature on listed buildings. The development, named “Havelufer Quartier,” spans 95,000 square meters and will include 1,700 apartments, both newly constructed and renovated. The project aims to create a “campus-like mix of living, housing, and working with regional appeal,” with a focus on rental properties rather than ownership. Despite its appeal to affluent tenants, the […] Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/d2kSg__A #solarenergy #alternativeenergy #solarpv #pvsolar #photovoltaic #cleanenergy #cleantech #climatechange #middleeast #africa #india #asiapacific #asia #engie #europe #france #photovoltaicsystem #solarimo #sustainable

🌞 Switzerland is paving the way for a greener future with solar panels on railway tracks. 🚆 This innovative initiative by Sun-Ways, in collaboration with EPFL, introduces a removable system for solar panels, revolutionizing the integration of renewable energy into transportation infrastructure. By rolling out solar panels "like carpet" along railway tracks, Sun-Ways is not only harnessing solar energy but also addressing the need for easier maintenance of railway lines. With ambitions to scale this technology across Switzerland's extensive railway network, Sun-Ways aims to contribute significantly to the country's renewable energy goals. And the potential doesn't stop there – extending into neighboring countries like Germany, Austria, and Italy could further amplify the impact of this eco-innovation. While challenges such as micro-cracks and weather conditions are being addressed, this project exemplifies the power of innovation in driving positive change and underscores the importance of sustainable solutions in tackling the climate crisis. #sustainableinfrastructure #renewableenergy #innovation #solarpower #climateaction #railwayindustry #railsponsible 🇨🇭🌍

Join us for the workshop “𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗰𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀” which will take place on 🗓️ 2 October | ⏰ 14:00-15:30 CEST. 🇩🇰 The workshop will take place under the 10th European Conference on Sustainable Cities & Towns (ESCT) will take place on 1-3 October in Aalborg, Denmark. 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Europe must transition towards #sustainableenergy production and sharply increase the share of renewables in the energy mix to deliver on the Paris Agreement. Ambitious policies have been proposed, including the EU Rooftop Strategy, requiring PVs on all new public and commercial buildings by 2026. But what happens to PV panels when their lifespan is over? At the same time, energy storage is critical to make renewable energy reliable for large scale deployment, and storage capacity needs to triple by 2030 and increase tenfold by 2050. But how do we secure a sustainable and just value chain of the materials needed to build them? ♻️ #Circular strategies address both ends of the value chain: materials needed to produce these technologies as well as the #waste that is produced. 🙌 Explore the crossroads between renewable energy and a #circulareconomy and discuss the strategies cities are employing to facilitate this transition.
