Voluntary Health Association Of India’s Post

We recently celebrated the 50th Annual General Body Meeting of VHAI in New Delhi. This year’s theme, Climate Change and Health, emphasized the urgent need to address the growing health risks from environmental changes. Climate change worsens existing health issues and introduces new threats like vector-borne diseases, respiratory problems, and mental health challenges, disproportionately affecting vulnerable communities. Addressing these requires community-driven solutions that build resilience and promote adaptation. We were honored to have Dr. Rajnikant, ICMR, chair the session, alongside distinguished speakers including Dr. Aakash Shrivastava, NCDC, Govt. of India, Dr. RC Dhiman, TCI Foundation, and Dr. Harshal Salve, AIIMS. Their insights highlighted the importance of collective action to tackle these challenges. The presence of representatives from our State Voluntary Health Associations enriched the discussions, reinforcing the value of collaboration at both national and grassroots levels. As we reflect on 50 years of service, VHAI reaffirms its commitment to supporting the government’s mission to build a healthier, more resilient nation. Together, we can drive lasting change. #VHAI #PublicHealth #ClimateChange #HealthEquity #50YearsOfImpact
